Well, i am posting in the 7th and that motley lineup without Franmil still has scraped up 4 runs.
Not the greatest day for Plesac to suck.
Hopefully the Twins' ineptitude in close games late in the game will bail us out.

well not this time; they let us back in and Owen Miller had a chance to win it for us in the bottom of the 9th, but he blew it.
Turns out he's no good. Send him back to Columbus.
And then Karinchak turned out not to be perfect.
What I lot of disappointments on one beautiful spring afternoon.

Add in that Plesac was mediocre and it just wasn't our day.

Number 9 spot in the order...0-5 5 Ks

Hedges isn't supposed to hit, just catch; and he did have a couple hits the day before. I'll accept an OPS of 300 for Number 9 hitter if the rest hit.

remember when our pitchers didn't walk anyone? Hentges is mimicking McKenzie tonight, 3 walks already in 2 innings.
Even Bieber is walking plenty, he's among the league leaders after previously setting marks for fewest walks.

Miler with his first big league hit. His single was followed by an unlikely pair from Bauers and Rivera to score a run.

Seems to me that both those guys were rushed to the big leagues, in retrospect. I say in retrospect because the team had to see.
But both Hentges and McKenzie are still working through issues that should be refined in the minors with more games and reps.
And that's why I want the more polished and experienced Quantrill to take a spot.

Pretty solid outing for Hentges so perhaps he holds his rotation slot.
He's still kinda all over the place with his command but the stuff is so obviously there.
I was pulling for Mejia to get more than an inning last night. The bullpen IS this team.

It must be Quantrill on Wednesday; It's nice using an All-Indians-Draftee rotation but I'll go for the more experienced if he can manage it. Has not had good success as a starter back with the Padres, in a rather small sample.

McKenzie screwed up their pitching plans by pitching well. Still did walk 3 in 5 innings> His scheduled one day up and right back to Columbus itinerary may be changed; now scheduled to pitch again next Monday for the major league club.
As for Friday, it won't be Quantrill who went 3 innings.
Miller got a couple hits but hardly any other offense. At SS yesterday; he'll probably rotate all over the infield and DH for the next 6 weeks.

Jordan Luplow is out of the Indians' starting lineup on Thursday due to renewed ankle discomfort.
Luplow suffered a left ankle sprain early last week and it's apparently still bothering him to some degree. Bradley Zimmer, who was called up Thursday morning, will start in center field and bat ninth versus the Tigers.

Eli Morgan will be called up to make his MLB debut in a start Friday versus the Blue Jays.
Morgan has pretty good minor league numbers -- 3.11 ERA, 10.1 K/9 in 332 2/3 total innings

Short right hander. We've had some discussion about short handers recently. He has a great change up I believe it is. He sure won't be a star but could possibly be a back of the rotation guy. Maybe

As far as I can see on the indians page Morgan hasn't yet been called up. the transaction for today shows McKenzie down and Zimmer up. Brad has been hitting very well in the past couple weeks. Mostly singles, first HR last night, not too many striikeouts. Been more effective at bat than Johnson and much more so than Mercado who continues to make 2019 appear a mirage.
