Right, Mt Fan. He swings at pitches that bounce at the plate. I'd move him way down to get his attention. You can call it a K almost everytime that an RBI is available.

I don't disagree but after the three guys who can hit, there is a long line of non-contributors. Does it matter much the order among Cabrera, Hafner, Santana, Kotchman, Damon, Hannahan? They all stink.

You do have a point there. Maybe going with the hottest bats at that time? Lopez, Marson?

The Perez trade chip is always a possibility with Pestano stepping in. It would have a domino effect on our bullpen, but it might be the only way we could add a legit bat or two. You have to give value to get value. And it's not like Perez wouldn't rather be playing elsewhere...

And you're right Perez is one of the few valuable and I guess replacable commodities we have. But once Pestano moves up to closer we become pretty thin in the pen behind him. Much of the AAA bullpen depth has migrated to the DL.

Pestano can handle the job. I'd trade Perez in a heartbeat.

Wild cards in the equation could be the imminent return of Raphael Perez, and maybe Roberto Hernandez.

But I agree about how paper thin our BP would be if we traded Chris Perez. It's kinda thin even with him in the mix.

Maybe some teams would take R Perez and R Hernandez off our hands for some hitters? (BTW I love the Seattle idea in the other thread, aren't they over-due for a fleecing?)

Update: Sizemore (back) is not close to beginning a rehab assignment at this time, Nick Camino of WTAM in Cleveland reports.

Recommendation: Indians manager Manny Acta provided the clarity regarding Sizemore's status prior to Monday's game. For now, it appears as though a late June or early July right return would fall in the range of a best-case scenario.

We seem to have missed that "best case scenario".

No way do I trade Chris Perez unless another team delivers the content of their talent vault. He just turned 27, is in the prime of his career with good stuff and has 85 saves for us in just 2 1/2 seasons.

He's only blown 6 saves since he was pitching as a 24 year old.

That Pestano/Perez combo is one of the most formidable obstacles we have thrown before opponents in my 50 years of Indians Fandom.

Yes, I do think Pestano could close, but I don't mess with the best part of our team.

Make that a double.....I like Perez. When Pestano comes in the 8th and we have the lead it's almost a given we will win. Other than those two the only releiver that doesn't make me nervous is Rogers, I hope he doesn't change that.

The problem is.....who the hell do we have that anyone else would want? Cabrerra? Brantley? Can't get rid of them. There ain't jack or shit for prospects from what I hear tell, (otherwise someone would have come to play left field by now).

Civ had it right, gotta give big to get big....but I don't think we have anyone we can get rid of to fill a hole without making another hole.
