Hernandez single scores one but Naylor nailed at the plate; so even something good turns into something stupid.

9 walks and 2 catchers interference.

If you get 1st base free 11 times, you should win the game.

that was as bad a game as they've played yet. Does not appear to be any advantage of crowding the bases since it is virtually impossible to drive them in. Just wastes time.
I was looking through the hitting with RISP for this roster and it appears that only Luplow and Perez have any ability whatsover. The 3 R's in the middle of the order have been notably inept.
Small sample but when you're the worst hitting team by batting average you need to figure out some way to drive in the occasional baserunners.
Maybe they need to teach Franmil how to lay down a squeeze bunt
And for Roberto Perez to practice stealing home.

Sure, Tito puts Ludlow in CF vs. a rightie and he goes 0-4 with 3 strikeouts. Oh well, let him run with it.

Bullpen lets the team down. Defense didn't help.

Can't win a lot of games scoring 3 runs.

After the first inning, I said "beautiful...Bury those Skanks...lot more runs coming"

Clank!

Naylor may be as bad a RF as 1B. He's had quite a week

Looking at the pitching line from last night, it appears
the 3 batter minimum bit us.

Eddie Rosario notably hits with a runner in scoring position - singling in Jose Ramirez from 3B off Cole. 4th inning

( Then Eddie even steals a base. ) Makes them 12 for 13 on the season.

Poor Bieber - against top pitchers from other teams he's going to have trouble getting a win with our lineup full of holes.

Ok - vs. a right hander today Amed Rosario in CF, Luplow in RF and Josh Naylor at 1B.

Here's an absurd result of foolish roster management. The team carries 14 pitchers. So only 3 guys on the bench one of whom is a catcher.

8th inning, down by one, slowest man on the team Roberto Perez walks with one out. Need to get some speed on the bases but we've already pinch hit Chang and are bringing in Luplow to pinch hit. Once upon a time teams used pitchers to pinch run but I guess they're too valuable to risk on the bases now, and/or have no baserunning skills since they only bat a few times a season.
Of course it didn't matter even after a wild pitch put any runner other Perez in scoring position when the next two sluggers popped up.

That lineup suggests that maybe Bauer has finally been shipped away? But honestly what's the big offensive improvement: Rosario is hitting 176.

So with Hedges in behind the plate after a night game, the lineup even without mighty Jake, includes "hitters" with averages of:

067 Hedges
176 ARosario
181 Hernandez

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN SO MANY SUB-MENDOZA LINE HITTERS? ALMOST EVERY TEAM STARTS ONE TO FOUR INCOMPETENTS

214 Giminez
214 ERosario
231 Luplow but his OPS is 1028
241 Naylor with no homers 2 rbi and innumerable boneheaded plays
243 annual MVP contender Ramirez
258 Reyes when has that ever been the BEST average among a starting 9?
