The Santana no-hitter leaves only the Padres with a longer no-no drought than the Indians.

It pains me a tad to type this, but no-no's increasing prevalence in baseball has at least temporarily taken the edge off the excitement over the accomplishment for me.

But, if one of our guys weaves one, I'll certainly be happy.

Good point, perhaps. With any steroids he might have needed some Viagra, but maybe his health trained wife whipped him up some other type of healthy juice for personal performance enhancement.

I am skeptical that Hafner is a steroids issue.

Reason being, his last good years were AFTER the steroid era, when the game DID have testing.

From the PD:

Left fielder Johnny Damon will to leave the Indians and go on the paternity list after Saturday night’s game. His wife recently had twins.
With Damon leaving the club, Matt LaPorta will be recalled from Class AAA Columbus to replace him. FOX TV, which broadcast Saturday night’s game, first reported the news. …
A player cannot stay on paternity leave for more than three games.

There is absolutely no doubt by anyone that knows him that Hafner was a huge steroid (hgh) user. No doubt at all.

Santana will DH tonight at Lake County

By SHELDON OCKER Published: June 4, 2012

Doctors have cleared Carlos Santana to be the designated hitter at Lake County tonight and take a few swings against live pitching.

Santana is on the seven-day disabled list created for players who have had concussions. He was diagnosed with a mild concussion nine days ago but is expected to be activated for the Indians' three-game series in Detroit that begins Tuesday night.

Now that we have one former Red Sox star in Damon, my dream is to see Kevin Youkilis in a Tribe uniform. But I know it won't happen any time soon :(

Youkilis seems like a fit for The Yankees one day.

Did he play for a high school near where you taught, J.R.? I know he has Cincy connections.

I remember being happy to get Bernie Carbo and even Ken Harrelson from the Red Sox. Dick Radatz didn't excite me all that much on the acquisition, though it was fun to watch him pitch.

Yes, Youk went to Sycamore HS in Montgomery, which is where I lived for 16 years. I taught in another district, though.
