I remember being at a game in Winter Haven ST in the early 2000s where David Riske did the same thing. 9 pitches, all fastballs, 3Ks.

Well, if we are in the race I don't see how he can be dealt. Kluber, Bauer, Carrasco etc give us a puncher's chance in any series.

If the team flops, then he becomes a prime candidate at the trade deadline.

Daniel Johnson, young OF’er we got from Nationals, was 2-3 with a triple and a homer today.

Smith got smacked around in bullpen but every other pitcher looked good. Including Hentges, Martinez, and Otero.

The Black Magic Hitter, Carlos Santana went deep too.

Johnson describes himself as a gap hitter rather than a power hitter. I'll take that. I hope that someone among the recently acquired OFs turns out to be major league passable, among Mercado, Johnson and Luplow.
[Speaking of Luplow, they should be looking for Ty Clines' great nephew too]

Johnson is up there today with the greatly ballyhooed Fernando Tatis Jr. in BA's prospect report highlights:

Daniel Johnson, OF, Indians. The Indians outfield situation this season looks like the bread aisle at a Southern grocery store when snow is on the way. It's pretty barren, but the acquisition of Johnson from the Nationals in the Yan Gomes trade could help at some point this season. Johnson went 2-for-3 with a triple and a home run yesterday.

after 4 games, we've gotten a look at 27 pitchers, 16 of whom have spotless ERAs. two games today so a good dozen or more should get out on the mound. Bieber scheduled for his first appearance. Carrasaco and Kluber and Clevinger are still on hold. Clippard has not worked yet, either, but of course he just signed.
