I gave the ole kiss of death to Yandy. Hasn't hit a ball hard all night. But how about Allen!!
13 game hit streak is longest by a MLB rookie this year.
And I'm not sure but I think that was only his 2nd homer all year, and both have been huge. One giving us the late lead tonight. The other was a walk off against Houston in the 14th inning during Fathers Day weekend.
(He may have hit a 3rd some time that wasn't nearly as memorable)

We win!
We may never lose again!!
Well that 9th inning was far more interesting than we'd like but I'll take it

Hope Cody finds his curveball for the playoffs.
Can't believe some of the breaking balls I've seen from 12year olds in the Little League World Series.

Greg Allen again! Extends hit streak to 14 games with RBI double the opposite way.
He may be in lineup for good.

Holy cow, Melky has turned into a one man wrecking crew! 3rd straight game with homer. And a triple shy of cycle in 6th inning.
Allen made a very nice catch last inning. On run, jumped and caught ball then banged into wall. Banged his elbow on wall but seems ok. I've always been a fan of this kid. Glad to see him playing well.

Another great catch by Allen in 7th! The first catch was great but this one was even better!
Bieber had 6 shutout innings but they finally got to him for 3 in 7th.
Gomes with a solo shot gets lead back to 3 though. Miller coming in for 8th.
6-3 good guys.

At some point we have to make a decision about Kipnis. Dude dropped a pop up in IF in the 9th inning tonight.
Maybe a trade for Donaldson will take care of it.

Well Greg Allen and Melky are certainly putting a whole new perspective on our outfield situation!!
Put Yandy in at 3B and Kip off the bench the rest of the season. Including spot starts in the OF. He's toast.

Hope we all are happy they are beating someone NOT in the Central division.
Seriously though, without Sale the Tribe's pitching is just better. And with Hand/Cimber and Andrew Miller back, their bullpen is back to being a weapon.
Last night, even the bottom of the order hit too! So it's all clicking these first 2 games. Melky and Allen round out this team if they can continue.
Like HB said, Melky has to come out for defense, but the guy has hit for years. Back of the baseball card baby!
Even better he hits well as a righty hitter.

It's the spirit of JR that is kicking Boston's ass. JR made a habit of visiting Cape Cod this time of year and would include a trip to Fenway Park.

Gaylord - - Edwin is supposed to be back in lineup on Thursday. (day game, BTW)
TFIR - "Even better he hits well as a righty hitter."
As hot as he is right now I hope they keep him in the lineup vs the lefty, Johnson, this evening. Guyer can keep coming in as a defensive replacement.
Honestly, I'd love to see them release Guyer when Edwin comes off DL. Keep Yandy on roster and keep starting Melky in RF. Allen has CF locked down, and we'd still have Davis coming off bench.
.
By the way, I didn't mention this last night, but I've said it a million times. Do not go down & in to Yan Gomes. He'll make you cry. It's a no brainer scouting report. Don't know what some pitchers are thinking from time to time. I guess they need a reminder once in a while.
