Though the Indians never made Josh Willingham a former proposal, they indicated that they were willing to offer a two-year deal in the $15MM range, according to MLB.com’s Jordan Bastian (Twitter links). Willingham has agreed to terms with the Twins, but GM Chris Antonetti says the Indians are still considering external options.

Aced out by another big market team throwing money around.

So Willingham is coming to The Central. If I'm seeing correct data, it's interesting to note that of his 29 2011 home runs, none came against the Indians. None came against the White Sox. None came against Kansas City. One was off Detroit. Four were off his new team, Minnesota.

Someone needs to ask the Indians under what scenario they can seriously expect any free agent with a decent track record is going to be looking for a 1 or 2 year deal.

The news out of the Indians camp just keeps coming and coming.

First the two make-work jobs in the front office and now the radio guys signed a new contract.

What cruise ship are these guys on?

The #Indians have acquired OF Aaron Cunningham from #Padres for minor league pitcher Cory Burns, says BB source.

Indians have to clear a spot on their 40 man to make room.

The Indians have signed OF Felix Pie & INF Jose Lopez to Minor League contracts. Both deals include non-roster invites to Spring Training.

I don't mind the Pie and Lopez deals. I consider both an upgrade. Shows how bad our farm system really is if you subtract pitchers from the formula.

You don't have to look too far into Lopez's past to see some very good numbers - especially for an INF.

Worth a shot.

Glad to see the front office got off the dime and made some moves.

Some would say those moves are not worth a dime.

Maybe a plugged nickel.

Cheap bastards!

So, is "we'll spend when the time is right" now officially inoperative?

How can the time be right for the 63-99 Twins to be in the free agent market, and not the Indians, who less than 6 months ago traded their best prospect because they figured they were ready to win now?

Honeymoon over for Antonetti.

Cunningham's stats look quite good until he reached AAA. At least he's from Alaska; can't remember any Cleveland players other than Trajan Langdon from Alaska and he was a major success for the Cavs.

Doesn't look good enough to waste a 40-man roster spot on, unless they want to clear away Thomas Neal who looks no better.
