He would be a gold glove contender every year if he was a regular. But dude just can't hit a lick.

Shawn Armstrong has been informed he can stop hiding. Recalled from the Indians' team hotel (err, Triple-A Columbus). Urshela optioned.

Clevinger was really cruising in last nights game. Going by memory I think he had only gave up 2 hits and 1 walk thru 4 innings. Then the rain came. We had to use rest of bullpen to finish game.

Had Tito started him game one instead of two we would not have had to use the bullpen 10 innings yesterday and would have more options today.

He really slipped up with that move. Merritt should have started second game.

After two months of trying to pick up 2-3 games on the twins, I thought that a sweep would be necessary considering the circumstances. I didn't think we would take two on Saturday for a lot of reasons but the team rose to the occasion. A sweep is at hand and this could be the moment I've been waiting for. A chance to pull away from the pack. Lindor and Encarnacion seem to have awaken from their slumber. A big week for Ramirez saw him raise his average for .280 to .304 and counting. Chisenhall and Gomes have been doing well as of late. The only one still trying to find himself is Santana. Time to drop him another couple of spots. in the lineup and move Chisenhall and Gomes up a couple of rungs. Ideally, I'd like to be about 5 games up on the pack by the all star break. Looks like Ramirez has worked himself into a position to pass Sano in the voting for third base. All is good right now.

I'll post this here, then J.R. Can post it again in an hour.

Tribe Insider @Tribeinsider
Welcome back, Indians have acquired RHP Jarrett Grube from the @BlueJays for cash. Will report to the @CLBClippers

Some of you may remember Grube used to be in our organization and had a fantastic year for Columbus in 2015. Then we let him go. He fell off some last year and even more so this year. Big right handed starter.

MINNEAPOLIS -- It the MLB team you're following isn't making a roster move at this very minute, you can be sure it's not the Indians.

The Indians continued their flurry of weekend moves on Sunday when they recalled right-hander Shawn Armstrong and optioned third baseman Giovanny Urshela to Class AAA Columbus. Before the second game of Saturday's day-night doubleheader against the Twins at Target Field, the Indians recalled Urshela and optioned left-hander Ryan Merritt to Columbus.

Before Game 1 of the doubleheader, they recalled Merritt to start the game and optioned left-hander Kyle Crockett. For the second game, Mike Clevinger arrived from Columbus for the start as the 26th man that the basic agreement allows teams to carry for doubleheaders.

To start the weekend, the Indians placed outfielder Michael Brantley on the paternity list and recalled right-hander Adam Plutko for pitching protection on Friday.

The Indians brought Urshela, Plutko, Merritt and Clevinger with them on the trip to Minneapolis because they were going to play four games in three days. They were stashed at the team hotel until needed. Armstrong was told he'd be going to Minneapolis on Friday and arrived Saturday morning.

This is Armstrong's fourth tour with the Indians this season. He's made nine relief appearances, allowing eight runs in 12 innings. In 13 appearances at Columbus, he's 1-0 with five saves and a 2.93 ERA. He's struck out 20, walked six and allowed five earned runs in 15 1/3 innings.

Right-handed hitters at Triple-A are hitting .167 (5-for-30) against Armstrong, who made the Tribe's opening day roster.

Clevinger, who was knocked out of Saturday night's start after four innings because of rain, is scheduled to start Thursday at Camden Yards against the Orioles. Along with Urshela, he was optioned to Columbus on Sunday morning, but he is not expected to be there long.

Usually when a player is optioned to the minors, he has to stay there 10 days unles there is an injury on the big league club. But that does not apply to the 26th man who is added for doubleheaders.
