Brantley walks and Santana gets hit by a pitch to load the bases for Encarnacion, who represents tying run!

And EE watches strike 3 paint the outside corner...

I'll have to take a look but our starting pitchers may be at the very bottom of the AL in ERA. Rated as perhaps the best in the league coming to the season they have been individually and collectively a disaster. Kluber's problems were probably due to his back and we can hope he won't miss too many more starts. Carrasco has been excellent except the last start when he was hurt but we think he's not missing a start, just being delayed. Salazar has not pitched well since June 2016. Bauer is "great" when he gives up only 3 runs in 6 innings. Tomlin is a number 5 starter who is sometimes good sometimes awful. And that's the "best starting pitching in the AL"

Clevinger as the backup has inconsistent command. The rest of the AAA "depth" has been erratic.

Not looking good, I'm afraid.

EE is doing a pretty nice impression of Swisher and other overpaid vets. He does well when it's warm, so we just have to wait until the Cleveland weather hits 100. [only 86 today]

Well Andre Knott just reported on TV that Kluber's bullpen session went well and next step will probably be to send him to Lake County for a couple innings of rehab.

And speaking of the Captains they just scored to take lead in 10th inning

Well we finally found a pitcher who could get some outs today. Oh Goody.

bring up McKenzie.

Oh wait, he wasn't so great last night either.
Well, wait until everyone's healthy and we can go back to a 3-man rotation with 5 innings per game from the bullpen. That nearly got them through three rounds of playoffs.

13 2/3 scoreless innings mostly kind of mopup for Goody. Just about all the bullpenners have been excellent.

I think I heard Jensen Lewis say the bullpen had an ERA of like 1.48 in May. Something like that...

Base hit for Lindor.

Rumor is that kid can play some baseball.

RBI double by Brantley, Lindor scores!

Another lefty going opposite field off LF wall

And once again Encarnacion watches strike 3 paint the outside corner with guys in scoring position...

Can we help you Mr. Encarnacion.

No thank you, just looking.

Did he dare say what the starters' ERA is this month? I'd probably rather not know.

Encarnacion's statistical highlights for 2017:

Vs LH pitchers he has ONE rbi in 58 plate appearances. The only thing he does well against lefties is walk, 13 times.

with RISP he has two singles and two homers in 44 appearances, also nine walks, not including today's fine effort.

with a 3-2 count, he has 3 singles in 22 at bats and a whole pile of walks, 15 of them.

only up 4 times before today with the bases loaded and he's hitless
