We finally have some positives to carry over to tomorrow's ball game. No better time than now to get five well pitched games in a row. Kluber, Carrasco, Salazar, Tomlin, and Bauer. I don't know it I go with Tomlin or McCallister though.

Don't mess me up JR
I do not want to miss opening pitch tomorrow. That game starts and 3pm CST. Correct?

We have DST here, I assume in Chicago, too?
So it would be 3 PM there.

Francona pointed out that he wanted to make the Tigers use their bullpen, to help us in future games.

Just some reading material for Seagull cause he loves this stuff ...
So middle of the game Yandy Diaz smoked a line drive the opposite way to RF. The exit velocity of the ball off the bat was 107 MPH. According to the number crunchers you hit a ball 107 MPH off bat you have a 77% chance of getting a base hit. But Yandy's ball was right at RF'er for an out.
He has more or less a 2 in 10 chance of getting out and does.
And Jordan Bastian tweets ... Per @statcast, Yandy Diaz has 5 outs on balls in play with exit velos of 105+ mph. Tied for most in the Major Leagues.
In poker that is "running bad".

I wonder how Ramirez ranks? He must have at least 8 bullets so far this year that he's hit for outs.

Interesting! Jose Ramirez is over league average in all stats. I'm not really excited about the average height. I'd like to see more ground balls. I'd like to see Ramirez's average height closer to Diaz's.

I'll have to check Lindor's. He's probably off the charts. If Diaz can get some elevation (and doesn't screw up his swing doing so), he's capable of hitting 20-30 homers a year.

Fear not, gentlemen.
Soon the dog days of April will be behind us and all the bloops and dribblers will go for hits.
Our pitchers will start hitting their spots and Tito will figure out where to place his fielders.
Pray for May.

So last night Cabrera threw a fit when Bauer pitched him inside. He wasn't hit, but both benches were warned. As a result, Bauer had to pitch away from him, and he walked. Then Miggy got a homer in the 5th. In the 9th inning, Guyer was hit by a pitch, but their pitcher wasn't ejected. I guess the warning expires after a certain number of innings?

I'm confident that JR's prediction of 100 losses is a joke. We all know that the season is 162 games long and there are rough spots along the way for all teams.
I'm not confident that Joe understands that positioning of infielders in sometimes bizarre ways is one of the offense-throttling features of 21st century baseball. Sometimes it doesn't work, naturally.
Team is doing a terrible job at bringing runners home. No reason to assume that will continue for 6 months.
I predicted 94 wins. I can join the move to negativity and say now I predict 68 losses

I understand what I see CIV.
Sometimes it doesn't work? So far, It hasn't worked out at all for us.
We lost one game in Arizona (I think it was the game that Kluber pitched), one game against Chicago (the Salazar pitched ball game), and last night's game against Detroit because Lindor or Ramirez were playing up the middle and base hits got through the holes they just vacated. That's a three game turn around.
Screw 21st Century baseball. Let's play 20th Century baseball and start winning some baseball games.
To date, it's my opinion that playing up the middle per 21st Century baseball fails more often than it works out for this team. These are professional hitters we face. Why cut the field in half.
Now! If your the opposition and have to face Santana and Encarnacion, you struck a gold mine because they can't hit the opposite direction with any consistency.
Just my observations and opinions of course.
