The Cleveland hitters have been out of control this series. I thought I saw it yesterday but its more evident today. These guys are trying to knock the ball out of the park on every swing. The D-Backs have been more controlled in their approach to hitting. They aren't trying to do to much and are inflicting some series damage on our pitching staff with their patience.

Maybe we can take home some hitting lessons from these guys!

Looks like the D-Back are going to start pinch hitting with their pitchers. I think all of the bench players have been exhausted..

Anybody been taking notice of Encarnacion?!?!?! Our staff stopped him cold in the playoff. They were getting him out on those low and away sliders. It seems he has not learned how to layoff that pitch yet. By the way, Encarnacion was out on that called third strike. If he were bunting, he would have laid down the perfect bunt. The thing I was upset about, Encarnacion had a 2-0 count and flailed away at two low and outside sliders. He should have walked but instead, the count went to 2-2 before the called third strike. That was bad enough but he tried to pull those low and away pitches out of the park which he's been trying to do in all five games. A lot of our players have been trying to follow suit it seems except for Brantley and Naquin. Saw a lot of faces with "quit" written over them late in the game.

Really? I didn't know Encarnacion was known for his bunting skills. Is that why we got him?

You're reading too much into my statement jR. The point was that the bat when checked was in perfect position to lay down a bunt. Therefore, the umpire's call from first base on the checked swing was a strike.

OK, JOE, thanks for the clarification. I know you're a fan of small ball, but it doesn't work with every player.
