Looked it up, 18 hits and 8 walks in 41 AB's now.
Not only can I not see how they can leave him off 25, I don't know how they can leave him out of lineup each day. The dude gets out of bed and finds himself on base each day. They need to give him RF and forget about it.
Re: GameTime!™
18138I am just checking on Gameday, the game will be on my cable at 9AM tomorrow morning. Hope to see those long balls!
Re: GameTime!™
18140By the way, forgot to mention this, but the homer that Brantley hit yesterday was to CF and way out. Was quite a shot. He has not lost any power.
Re: GameTime!™
18141They want to emphasize defense and maybe Yandy's not a gold glover but he's won the job. Of course it may only be a 2 week job until Kip is back, but he can turn it into a lot more if he hits
Re: GameTime!™
18142Tonights game is showing up on my guide on the Fox Sports Arizona alternate channel. DirecTV channel 686-1. (for HD) Game not on STO tonight. This will be the 3rd game this week I've got to watch on opposing teams sports channel. Only 1 game on STO. Subscription to the DirecTV Sports Pack paying off this spring.
Re: GameTime!™
18143As far as Yandy, I am really hoping he hits so well that when Kipnis comes back they will consider giving him that RF job. Chiz is probably out of options. Trade him for a PTBNL or whatever.
Re: GameTime!™
18144I can live without Chisenhall. Easily.
Just to reiterate a post I made a few weeks ago, and this is something that really surprised me when I saw the list of players who made major league debuts last season, only a handful made their first appearance on opening day. Whether for contract budgeting reasons or otherwise, nearly all arrived in the majors a least a few weeks later. Naquin was one of the few and the first Indians player to do so in many years. Diaz would therefore be a rarity if he's in the lineup opening day. And if he sticks all year. But I am rooting for him, too.

Re: GameTime!™
18145So Yandy 2-3 with a triple and a ribbie tonight. Great hustle and aggressive base running on the triple too. So he finishes spring with a slash line of .458/.544/.708 in 20 games. Now let's see what he does when it counts and pressure is on.

Re: GameTime!™
18147What a difference from a few years ago. You look at that lineup and say "no weaknesses".
Even a grouchy old bastard like me can't bitch about any of these guys being up with the game on the line.
