Another excellent ball game. It just doesn't get any better than this.
Bauer gave it his best shot. The homer by Bryant was huge. Up until that point, Bauer was in full control. He did well just to get out of that inning with the three runs being scored, but that's all it took. Bauer gave it his best shot.
We had our chances to tie and even take the lead but missed out on those opportunities.
There is still a lot of reason for optimism coming back home. That high powered offense only scored three times. We faced their ACE in Jon Lester and took him to the limit. I'm just happy we were able to squeeze out a couple of game on the road. That was asking a lot but these guys came through. Now its time to take care of business in our house.

Well put Joez! I thought that Guyer might have been able to catch that drive by Rizzo, and if so, the inning unfolds differently. Split second decisions.

Agree with joez.
Would have been nice to sweep at Wrigley, but in truth they came a lot closer to doing that than anyone would have thought.
It's obvious, but if someone had told us we'd be up 3-2 in the World Series coming home with Tomlin/Kluber starting game 6 and game 7 (despite being without Carrasco and Salazar and Brantley) I'm pretty sure we would have taken it.
No, I'm damn sure.
It's all set up at this point. Hoping that home crowd will be enough.

First time Tribe has ever played ball in November, I think[?]

Today's outfielders are scared of fence. How many times they could have caught the fly ball but instead, stop short to play it off the wall. Where is Kenny when you need him.

Not a fence at Wrigley, but a BRICK WALL! They are smart to be cautious!

I hope the Indians can score a bunch of runs next game before Chapman comes in. How early will Maddon go to him, and how many innings will he go?

It was surprising that for the first 4 games Chapman was irrelevant.

Although nothing developed, I thought our guys had some pretty decent rips at Chapman. I think they will be better prepared for him at home. On the reverse side, I hope the Cubs haven't figured Miller out. They've seen him enough.
Gotta agree with mcdoc, the wall/fence has been a big problem so far especially at Wrigley. That part of our game has got to change at home. Our outfielders should know where the wall is by now. This is one of the reasons why we call it home field advantage. They have to make these plays at home.
There's no changing back now, we've got to be aggressive in the field and on the base paths. The outfielders have to back each other up. Can't be afraid to get grass stains on the uniforms now.

If I were Maddon, I'd go to Chapman as often as possible. No worry about ruining his arm, he is gone after this season!

Not sure why it keeps going down. I keep rebooting the instance as soon as J.R. lets me know which clears it up. Will troubleshoot more in depth at some point, but tonight isn't a good time for that
Let's close this out tonight!
