What's this? Miller allowed a 2 run homer that put our lead in jeopardy. He's supposed to be perfect isn't he? This time Allen was the reliable one to close things out rather smoothly.

Bauer not at his sharpest, allowed 3 runs in 5 innings, but we're up 6-3 at the half-way point.

Highlight was a 2-run wild pitch on which Napoli scored from 2nd. I'll have to look for video of that.

And a two-run single by MVP Lindor.

the 2-run WP included controversy about whether the ball hit Chis' bat. The Tribe announcers were certain it DID hit the bat. But 'it's not a reviewable play". Result: Houston manager ejected and our announcers are certain it was a mistake.

it's now up to 10-3 so the lead over the Tigers is going to be 6 with 23 to play.

If we go 10-13, Tigers still have to 16-7 to tie.
If we go 12-11; they have to go 18-5 to tie.
If we go 18-5, they cannot catch us. So the "magic number" is 18.

well it's 10-5 now...

Raining in Cleveland. Getaway day for both teams. Hope they don't wait long, just give the Tribe the win and everyone flies out of town.

Lots of stuff happened today, but what jumps out at me (other than the blown call by the umps) is that Almonte continues to really excel to boost the bottom 1/3 of this lineup. Huge triple today!

By the way JR, it was the 2nd game in a row where the SS bobbled a grounder and was a large key to the inning.

What's the point? Putting the ball in play. It's more valuable than striking out, by far. Many good things can happen, and not just errors. Moving baserunners as well.
