So they call strike 3 on Kipnis' check swing on a bad pitch, Tito gets ejected as soon as he steps foot out of the dugout.

Payback for the bad call Friday night when Kipnis did swing but they said he didn't. Linder flies out for out #2 first pitch...on the guy who walked the first two straight and should have walked kipnis..

Tying run on 2nd......dude has 3-0 on Napoli.

Walk.

Ramirez with bases loaded and 2 outs.

RAMIREZ BASE HIT TIES IT UP!!!!

CHIS WITH THE WALKOFF!!!!!

They are using the phrases "special" and "team of destiny" now.

There really have been some amazing finishes when most teams would have cashed it in.

What's really nice is that this team, both pitching and hitting, is really young at the core. And welcome to the core group Jose Ramirez. So Kip, Lindor, Jose form a great young infield right now.

Surround them with some contributing vets and it apprently.....works! Oh, and the best manager in baseball.

Stupid Boston should have built a shrine to that guy. Oh well, their loss and our gain.

Agreed: great balance of offense, pitching and defense and Tito knows how to use them all. The confidence they have in themselves is obvious and leads to lots of those rallies. With Lindor, age 22 and mentioned in MVP discussions, and Ramirez, just turned 23, as offensive and defensive catalysts the team has a great future, when paired with the best Top 4 pitching rotation in baseball.

I vote for Clevinger way ahead of Merritt, but that's in part due to my prejudice for harder-throwers. Even when Tomlin was doing great I couldn't believe it. I've seen too many Sowers-Laffey-Huff lefties come and go.

If Perci Garner turns into a Righetti or Eckersley or Wilhelm or Lindy McDaniel or any of those guys in the write-up, I will be satisfied.

Since the wild card era, teams with a 7 game lead or better at the all star break are 47 for 47 reaching the playoffs. Teams with a 5.5 game lead on Labor day are 8 for 10. Just say'n.

Guys. I didn't mean Merritt should be used instead of Clevinger, just that if the situation warranted I would like to see him used. Always good to have a lefty on the staff and while Merrtt doesn't throw hard, he gets people out and what I saw of him, albeit briefly, he thows the ball where he intends it to go. Sort of like a first half Tomlin. In other words a "pitcher".

I missed the first inning. Is Clevinger hurt? Manship is in, but it's only 1-0.

Make that 3-0. As soon as I typed that, Manship gave up a 2 run dinger.
Tigers won today.
