Bauer, to me, is sooo like that. He's a guy who is very dependent on his confidence.

When he has it, you can see it, and his filthy stuff just breezes through lineups.

And it's often early in games when he isn't quite there yet with that confidence. IMO that's why relief wasn't a good gig for him.

Except for that million inning game in Toronto....that was epic.

Mike Clevinger will start on Monday against the Astros.


He's taking Josh Tomlin's spot. Tomlin will be available in relief Monday but could rejoin the rotation later this week. Clevinger holds a 5.30 ERA over 11 appearances -- five starts.
