Dammit, turned over to olympics and missed both home runs! What a finish!
J.R. No, he threw some bullpen sessions but they didn't feel as if he needed a rehab start.
(BTW, streak was 19)

Oh, I saw them right after. I have MLB app on my phone and tablet and subscribe. Got an alert on my phone that Naquin hit walk off so jumped on and watched the highlights. Crazy. Would have been better watching it live, but olympics is only once every 4 years.

This is a cool angle of the last hit. Watch the bench.

A win tonight would have put us 7 games ahead of the Tigers. I'd like to be 10 games ahead of everyone by Sept. 1
J.R.
All I was hoping for was a 5 game lead by the all-star break. We had a 6.5 game lead. The odds are in our favor to make post season. With a 7 game lead at this point in the season, it's going to be very difficult to overcome.

Does a new Fantastic Finishes video await as in 1995? last night's was pretty amazing!
Proved that that we can rally against not just the lousy teams like the WhiteSox but postseason rivals like the Jays.
Don't worry Joe, this team is bound for the playoffs. They are at least above average in every category: hitting, power, speed, starting pitching, relief pitching and defense. No other AL team has that balance.

another nice rally featuring Lonnie's 3 run bomb, ties it at 5. At which point Tomlin allows yet another home run and is sent home. Josh somehow overachieved for about half a season. Now he's doing what he can be expected to do; but it doesn't really matter as long as Salazar is ready for the playoffs. Tomlin would have no post-season role. If we need a 5th starter Clevinger is more likely to do the job.
Tomlin in the playoffs vs. power-hitting teams equals disaster.

Time to replace Tomlin in the rotation?

I hate this closer rule where a closer must close out the game.

That was interesting! Ramirez wins it with a 2-run homer in the home half of the 8th.

Ramirez is our best clutch hitter.

CLEVELAND --
Everyone in the ballpark knew it was gone as soon as it left his bat. Jose Ramirez's eighth-inning, two-run blast over the wall in left lifted the Indians past the Blue Jays, 3-2, in Sunday's series finale at Progressive Field.
According to Statcast™, Ramirez's homer off Jays reliever Brett Cecil went an estimated 401 feet with an exit velocity of 104 mph. It was his 10th home run of the season, with six of them coming in the eighth or ninth inning. It pushed the Tribe past Toronto in the rubber game between two first-place clubs in a potential postseason preview.
Jose has hit safely in all but 1 game in August.

JOEZ- You were an early supporter of Jose. Good for you! While I did not post about it I felt the same way. I told my wife he would be our SUPER SUB.But I never realized he would be such a great starter and closer. For a game closer he appears to be this season. So what is the over under on how many days until the Yankees inquire about him?
