Anyone have any idea why the Tigers keep Mark Lowe on their roster? He's been out there 30 times and his ERA rose yesterday only a smidge on his 2 runs allowed in 1 inning; he's at 10.33. 10 homers in is last 18 2/3 innings. He makes Royals' Chris Young look good.

In Wednesday's matchup, the Tigers will send impressive rookie Michael Fulmer (8-2, 2.17) to the mound. Fulmer may give the Tigers their best chance yet at halting the streak. The 23-year-old right-hander has allowed one or no runs in each of his last eight starts, which is the longest such streak by a Tigers starter since at least 1913. Over his last eight starts, Fulmer is 6-1 with a 0.53 ERA. Since May 21, Fulmer leads all major league pitchers with a 0.53 ERA and .133 opponent's batting average.

sac flies by Chisenhall and by Lindor plate our two early runs. We score an awful lot of runs on the right kind of outs.

Tomlin cruised through first 3 innings but got slapped around in 4th.
3-2 Pussycats in the 5th.

Streak ends. Tomlin's standard two homers allowed today equaled 5 runs, instead of the usual 2. Plus 3 more runs in without homers.

Zach gives up two more so it's 10=2. I guess it's ok to get destroyed once a week and win everything else.
McAllister started this year as the 7th inning pitcher and maybe even filled for Shaw sometimes in the 8th. He's now pitching mopup and not very well. After retiring one of five, he left for T. J. House who let in the two Zach left on base. So McAllister is charged with 4 runs in 1/3 inning. Tomlin 8, 5 of them earned, in 4 2/3.

Giminez is working behind the plate today so he might not be available to pitch the ninth. On the other hand, Cody Allen hasn't had any work recently so maybe he'll get to wrap this one up.

Other than letting Mc's last two runs score, House did well for his 1 2/3 innings. Although that's not quite as good as we'd like. We certainly could stand to add a lefty reliever at the deadline.

Jeff Manship with the 9th, resting Giminez for the Yankees series.

I am continually surprised at how few bad games Tomlin has. If he continues to lose 2 of every 12 decisions I'll not be too upset. I remain confidant that Carrasco will rarely have trouble; Salazar might walk too many somedays but he's nearly always in command; and Bauer seems to be a finished product, too. That's a pretty solid Big 3 and Kluber and Tomlin even with some bad days are way better back of the rotation than anyone else has
