Santana goes DEEP off another infielder pitching.

The way this game is going, I ain't exactly celebrating yet.

Carlos Santana!

He's a black magic hitter .... he's a black magic hitter...

Napoli even strikes out against infielders who are pitching. Pathetic.

Almost a solo homer to tie it up!

My hats off to Bauer on that one......5 innings of sudden death baseball....not too shabby.

As we rolled through our relief pitchers, a shout out to the brass for the pickups of:

Otero, Tommy Hunter (the Blue Jay announcers wondered "how did these guys just pick up a guy throwing 96?", even Joba too.

We lost tomorrow's starter, but hey, at least the relievers got some work and shook off some rust.

Had to go to a 4pm party at cousins with the game tied in the eighth, reluctantly as I wanted to finish this game, imagine my surprise when I got home in the 16th still tied 1-1. got to see the happy ending!

Yeah, Lou. Free baseball!

I worked last night, woke up in the 7th inning. I thought cool, I get to see last couple innings.

Last couple 12 innings!

Tito did the job on this one: He knows that the Jays have their best pitcher going on Saturday and since we don't really have to win all games, let's go for the record today and maybe sacrifice the next one.

Give Bauer tons of credit for in effect starting, on 3 days rest, when he had no time for the physical or mental preparation that any starter and especially he goes through.

I can see that game as being a real "bonding" experience for the team.

So who's going to pitch today? The only real choices are Ross Detwiler whose turn it is for Columbus, but he's not on the 40 man roster; or Shawn Morimando whose turn it is for Akron and he is on the 40 man roster. And even better, the RDucks are in Erie which Siri confirms is only 110 miles from Toronto,

BUT is there any reason why Shawn Morimando -- if he even has a passport -- would have carried it with him on the bus trip to Erie??

[Clevinger worked Wednesday, and Cody Anderson and Ryan Merritt are both on the DL]

Rumor is McCalister will start today. Having pitched yesterday I can't imagine we'll let him go very long today. Must assume bullpen will see a good work load again today.

I'm thinking, if rumor is true, he might just try to get 3 innings out of McCalister today and then go back to yesterday's plan of new reliever each inning.

Allen ready to go today, but maybe not Shaw.
