The big difference I find with the hitting this year is better balance up and down the lineup. Last year was almost automatic outs for the lower part of the order. Lots of guys contributing instead of 1 or 2 guys carrying the team.

Hope the old guys can beat the grind.

We all know the potential of Bauer and have seen it from time to time.

If he continues to mature and develop we have something there.

As well, if Tomlin AND Bauer continue to produce, this rotation is big time scary.

Regarding Anderson, our "6th" starter slot is one that has not worked out at all so far. Clevenger and Anderson.

Team was due for a dud. Bauer's excellent outing delayed that for a game.

(I still can't believe they played in Cleveland Sunday, had a 3 hour rain delay, then had a game IN Seattle on Monday. Crazy.)

As we call it in basketball, schedule loss.

Regarding Gomes:

"I don’t think he's probably having the best night of his life," manager Terry Francona told reporters after Tuesday's game.

That must have been a bit freakish as it goes without saying catchers wear cups.
