We'd read about what a great player he was but the offense is a surprise and the enthusiasm is really unique. Best draft choice since Manny.

Don't nobody look now, but Chiz is up to .265!

Don't look now, but the Tribe is in first place!

Don't look now but Chiz hasn't hit a homerun since September 20. 119 AB without one. And he's had one homer in his last 194 AB. Also has amassed 6 RBI in 84 AB this season.

Can't play 3rd, can't hit for power. But he's a nice defensive RF. Not what we thought we drafted.

I still dont like that Chiz, way too often, swings at balls out of the strike zone an misses or fouls them a lot-then takes a pitch down the middle for a called 3rd strike. I was on his side when he hit line drives to all fields and once in awhile pulled a long ball to RF. But lately NADA of that stuff.

Had to be reminded to take sunglasses off as he approached the plate to PH on a cloudy day.

Lost in today's debacle, Ryan Merritt made his debute in long relief.

4.1 IP. 1 H 0 BB 0 R

He should have been used before. He was doing better than Clevinger in AAA. Was more ready, IMO.

I agree, the guy did not throw tonight, he pitched.

I think Clevinger is generally rated a better long-term prospect. Merritt is one of those little lefties who seems to thrive due to his confidence, quick work and command; so many of that type have failed it's hard for me to expect a lot, but for every handful of Sowers and Laffey and Huff there's going to be an occasional success.

I didn't say Merritt was a better overall prospect. Just that he was more ready at this point for a shot in the bigs.

Nice article on Jose.

Followed his winter ball efforts the past few seasons where he rapidly became my most favorite Indian ball player. I'm really happy to see him doing so well. I really expected him to take off well from the start last season. Gotta admit it was disappointing for me. Perhaps he can keep it up for the 2016 season.

At this point, it appears he is leading the tean in obp and ops. He has also walked more times than he has struckout....16 walks and 15 strikeouts. Looks like he leads the team in doubles with 11. Not too shabby so far.
