As you might expect from that 1st inning, Tampa catcher Hank Conger is kind of easy to run on. Last year he gunned down one base stealer in 43tries.

and they're stranded, too.

Unlike the Tribe, Rays will have trouble running vs. Roberto Perez.

3rd inning, one out single by Lindor. After a couple pickoff attempts, he steals second and goes to third on catcher's throwing error. And Napoli and Santana leave him there. 0-6 RISP mid 3.

Did anyone remember that we have Dan Otero buttressing our bullpen? 1 inning of work since he left Arizona nearly 2 weeks ago. Ditto for Detwiler although he got into 2 games, Otero once.

one-out infield single for Byrd in the 4th. Will he try to run? Does he steal bases? 10 total over the past 5 seasons.

top of 5. Our big break?

Perez safe on error.
Davis walks.
Lots of chances now to drive them in.
Only disadvantage is Perez is unlikely to lead a double steal.

Only really solid hitter on the team [while Brantley rehabs] Lindor singles in a run. [1-10 RISP] and heads to the second on the throw. 2 in scoring position for the "heart of the order"

Napoli whiffs. [1-11]
Santana ends the rally [1-12]

But at least we're ahead for the moment.

Rare hit by the Tribe 3rd baseman, who fortunately is not Uribe. So with Jose Ramirez at 1st and none out there's a real chance for a steal.

Never mind: Marlon Byrd homers on Archer's 101st pitch and Tribe up by 3.
