Kipnis is making a bad habit of ending seasons in a rut.
He's now below 300
And Lindor is just ahead of Brantley for team lead [not enough AB to qualify for the league leaders]

Urshala's error opens the door. Down 3-0 in the 2nd.

Kluber surrenders a 3-run homer to the highly undistinguished SS Omar Infante, that doubles his total for the year.
Kipnis, as requested, arises from his funk with an rbi single that produces a 2nd run on a throwing error.
2-3 after 2.

Let's hope Kluber can shut them down now.

KC looking not quite like a championship team. Infante boots one, for their 3rd error of the game to start the 3rd inning.
[Urshela error made one of the 3 off Kluber unearned, but that doesn't reduce the folly of allowing a 3 run homer to a twerp. Tomlin manages that better.]

Kluber wasn't doing bad, but he's not starting the 5th inning?

Crocket gives up 3 more. How bad do the Indians want it? Can't afford to lose many more games!

Yeah, like Carrasco's first game back, Kluber was obviously being watched extra closely. Certainly could argue they were overly cautious, after just one missed start - but we were obviously not privy to whatever conversation Tito/Callaway/and Kluber had about how he felt.

Crockett and the generally reliable Manship let then one get away.

Other than superoptimists like Ken, I think we can agree that we're not going to make the playoffs.
It's a pretty good team, but not quite good enough. Same crew next year could step up enough to gain 5-8 games and reach the playoffs. But that would take offensive improvements from Santana and Gomes and consistency from Bauer and no sharp drop-offs from anyone else.

The Black Magic Hitter, Carlos Santana, with a grand slam off Chris Sale. 6 run inning so far!

Anderson keeps putting men on base and wriggling out of trouble. Credit to him if you're an Indians fan, blame it on the
whitesox terrible clutch hitting if youre a sox fan.
Chicago has left 7 on base in 4 innings and I've calculated correctly is already an amazing 0-10 with RISP. They have had a runner on 2nd with less than 2 outs regularly and done nothing about it.

Lindor with #10 makes it 7-1
