Phew I was worried that our first round pick from last year would never learn to drive like a Brown.

Not raining today; Tribe just broke through vs. Verlander on a Chris Johnson single to even the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the 5th. Anderson's yielded 6 hits but Tigers haven't done anything with them after the first two hitters of the game produced a score.

Lindor just untied things with the First Bases Loaded Hit of his major league career --- we had 3 on and no out for Ramirez and Kpnis both of whom popped up. But Francisco came through.

Kipnis is making quite a name for himself as a player who doesn't help out down the stretch. After managing to go totally RBI-less in September 2014, he's managed to drive in 1 RUN this September in 39 AB [ 5 hits in 39 AB, 1 double, 4 walks; OPS too low to record]

Just noticed that he has stolen 1 BASE and clubbed 1 HOMERUN in his 49 games since he returned to the lineup in July, during much of which time he was hitting plenty of singles and doubles, until the calendar turned to Sept when he froze up again.

double and 2 outs produce Tigers' second run and end Anderson's day.
The not especially reliable Zach Mac enters and walks two to give Tigers a chance to take the lead.

walks Dixon Machado, 200 hitter, too, to give Kinsler at bat with the bases loaded.

Francona loves to pull and replace his relievers but he left Zach in to create this mess.
He now offers Manship the opportunity to try to get out of it.

Martin Freeman had a 50 pitch 1st inning....and we only scored 2 runs and left the bases loaded.

Still better than the Browns.

Bauer blew that one. Tigers were sweepable and a double bill win would have put us in striking range of the Rangers and Twins and the psychological lift of being over 500 would have helped

Well, so it goes

Yep, we were all set up for a win - early lead, their pitcher high in the pitch count, but Bauer let us down again.

8-3 win. scored in 6 of the eight innings. Should have been 9 but Lindor thought he had a home run and only got a triple.

If Dolan had played his best players to start the year maybe this team would be in contention but as usual he cheaped out.
