I was looking at the standings this mornng. We are even in the loss column but four back in wins. Do they just have one make up game and a long series or are there two makeup games scheduled?

Watching carmon a last night reminds me of what we all saw in him a couple years ago. When he stays square and on top of the ball, he is tough. It seems he is really making an effort to stay calm and relaxed on the mound.

So if Carmona and Masterson are two top of the rotation starters, and Tomlin is more-than-average No. 4, then it comes down to Jiminez being something close to what we are supposed to have acquired. [and offense continuing at the level it has been at for the past couple weeks] BTW, Pomeranz pitched 7 shutout innings in his Rockies' AA debut.

Go Tribe!

I'm excited to see that management is finally getting it. It's about time.

There's a lot I'd like to say concerning the events of the past few months but there is not enough time nor enough space to encompass all of my thoughts. Suffice to say that I am very happy with the buttons management and manager are pushing.

I have mixed feelings on the Jimenez trade. I was hoping we would continue with the youth movement and promote White down the stretch and Pomeranz when the rosters expand. However, the prospects of having three top of the rotation pitchers is very attractive. Having Tomlin on the mound every fourth day ain't bad and the combinations of Huff/Carrasco coming out every fifth day is quite appealing.

The Hannahan story was a feel-good-all-over event. In trying times, this was a very nice team gesture.

I have my fingers crossed that Choo and Santana might put together just average numbers for them down the stretch. Average is better than nothing in our case. I don't think they can do any worse than they had done the first half of the season. This is a fine time to put it all together. If they had been putting up those just average numbers to date, we would be looking back at the Tigers and Sox in the rear view mirror. It a race and Labor Day is just around the corner. Time to step it up fellas.

It's early, but my vote has been cast. Manny Acta is my choice for Manager of the Year in the American League. He's done an awesome job handling this team. He's been pulling all the right strings with his pitching staff and he's been able to manage his young team under some trying times and keep them heading the proper direction. Terrific job in my opinion!

Welcome back Joe! We have been trying to post a lot of "what would Joe think" comments, e.g. the dismay at the loss of Matt McBride. But I don't think anyone missed the absence of Brandon Phillips etc. updates./

In honor of Hillbilly, I will not mention that one name again Civ. {:>)--

I made a commitment to myself over my leave of absence and that commitment was not to beat anymore dead horses. LOL!

Welcome back joe

Living in the past is never a good thing....it doesn't do anyone any good.

What you offer around here was missed IMO, I'm glad you are feeling and doing better!

Thanks everyone.

Donna! I emailed you late spring/early summer. I'm guessing you never received it. Anyway! The trumpet vine has extended at least 15 feet, maybe 20 feet up the trunk of the walnut tree next to the camper. The trumpets are bright orange and have been blooming all summer. That's the good news. The bad news! The hummingbirds have yet to find them. I hung my feeder next to the vine and I saw a few nibbles but nothing substantial. Towards the end of last summer, we had one small cluster of flowers. I got excited then. When I saw how much they are blooming this summer, I was really excited. That vine must be seeding because there are several locations where new vines are sprouting. I'm transplanting them. I don't want them obstructing out view of the river.

Welcome Back Kotter......err......JOEZ!

Hey, not to be off color, but my wife's been out of town for the last ten days and just got back last night.........and your last post....in my best Rodney Dangerfield voice.....had Gabriel blowing my horn, if you know what I mean. All those seeds and everything....

Presupposing that Rodney Dangerfield might have ever watched Peter Sellers play Chance the Gardner. (Being There)

:-)

Welcome back Joez.

Our dreams are your ticket in.
