I too like Santana 4th or 5th, while he walked, he swings much too hard to bat 2nd and forget trying to bunt. Lindor or Kipnis at 1-2 or 2-1 make a lot of sense.

Brantley OPS for the season is 836. Pretty solid for a bad year. Gomes over last 2 weeks is at 762; he's getting back to '14 levels.

Marcum alternates between being good and terrible. I saw his last start, and he was good.

Yeah, Mr. Hyde showed up tonight. Poor defense by Santana didn't help, but they were belting everything else.
Tonight is the first time I've really been able to concentrate on Marcum's stuff and honestly I don't know how he ever has Dr. Jekyll outings. All his pitches have been the same speed tonight. 83 to 85. And once in a while he mixes in a slow blooping curve that is 80 or so.
You're not getting major leaguers out without changing speeds better than that.
Great defense by Kipnis and Urshela actually helped this from being worse.

Still tho, in fairness to Mr. Hyde, if Santana makes the play on the grounder that went under his glove the game is 1-0 now instead of 6-0

Wow, this game is ugly. All new episode of American Pickers in 0:52.
I'm counting the minutes.

Urshela with a base hit, in addition to his fine defense this evening.

The American Pickers bought a really neat old Wulitzer jukebox.

Can't remember who it was, but
somebody posted this not too long ago:
You might want to add Marcum to that core of starters. About time they called him up.
This guy is a seasoned, proven starter in the league. If his arm is healthy, turn him loose.

I actually still like what Marcum has done overall in that 5th slot.
