The strange thing about bringing in the lefty to face Carpenter was that he had struck out 3 times vs Bauer.

Thanks to the schedule for bringing us Texas.
Seriously though, the schedule has been tough. Detroit and Kansas City are beating up on a lot of people, not just us.
Really important though to see Kipnis put last season behind him.
I am pining for Lindor.

Man, is he back or what! Last 2 games.
Tough run he gave up on the dropped catcher ball/wild pitch.

I listened briefly through the 8th inning....heard them say "Heart of the order coming up in the top of the 9th"
Rayburn (whom they PH'd with the fear inducing Murphy) Swisher and Aviles.
That's the heart of the order.
I stopped listening at that point, but I am glad that Kluber finished off the 9th.....I kind of figured we'd blow it in the 10th.
Sad to think that we'll lose 25 games before we win 15......

I discovered one weird fact about this team when I looked at the box score after the game:
We have 3 .300 hitters in the lineup: Brantley who is having another excellent season despite expectations that he would fall back toward his mean; Kipnis who I considered the key to the offense is back at all-star quality [offensive] play; and the unlikely due of Raburn and Murphy are both hitting over 300 -- who would have guessed and who might have noticed.
So that should mean we have a good offense to go with great starting pitching. But it doesn't seem to.
And then there's no stats to disprove that our bullpen is a group disaster.
