Might need to cut and paste that a lot this year....

Not to make excuses but part of the reason for the Tribe's struggles this year is NOT them.

Detroit and Kansas City really taking off. Even the Twins playing very well. Tribe and Chisox feeling the pain.

Bruce Chen - S - Indians

Indians purchased the contract of LHP Bruce Chen from Triple-A Columbus.
He'll make a spot start against the Twins on Saturday. While he posted a 1.74 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 23/3 K/BB ratio over 31 innings at Columbus, he isn't a recommended streaming option on Saturday. Remember, the 37-year-old owned a hideous 7.45 ERA and 1.76 WHIP across 48 1/3 innings with the Royals last season.
May 9 - 12:21 PM

Anthony Swarzak - R - Indians

Indians designated RHP Anthony Swarzak for assignment.
The 29-year-old posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 13/4 K/BB ratio over 13 1/3 innings out of the Indians bullpen. There's a chance that he could attract interest on waivers from teams in search of bullpen depth.

So much for dumpster diving - he stinks!

Just saw that they signed this guy for the next spot start, figuring he can't do much worse than Chen.

Not sure why they hesitate on using Marcum. Again, what's to lose. And he has a nice MLB track record!

Salazar has definitely been one of the bright spots on the team this year!

Tribe bats back in the freezer; being shutout 2-0 half way along vs. Lance Lynn of the Cardinals. The fact that I've never heard of him doesn't mean a thing; I know only a handful of NL pitchers. There's a guy named Kershaw on the Dodgers who is supposed to be good, and a whole bunch of Germanic names on the Nationals.

Well, we came back, but then Atchison gave up a homer :(

we came back and then 3 relievers combined their efforts to give up 4 runs. Atchison and Hagadone and Rpczynski are all well off form. We are exceedingly, and excessively, patient with guys based on their past success. I'd bring up Crockett if no one else. He was demoted with a 0.00 ERA and after some sloppy work in Columbus seems to be back in his groove. Since both Marcum and lefty Michael Roth are pitching very well for Columbus -- if they are throwing major league quality stuff unlike Chen whose promotion was foolish, they would bother be worthy of promotion, one to start and one to work in the pen.

The pen is definitely not the same as last year. Maybe b/c they were overused last year?

Leave it to the Baseball God, Jhonny Baseball, to break up the no no after 7 and 2/3

So Kluber has pitched 7 innings, allowed 1 hit, no runs, and has 16 K's.

He's out of the game. I would have liked to see him go for the CGSO. So now it's up to Cody Allen...
