Tito said in his PC that he was confident Allen would save it. "If I didn't I would have pulled him."
Of course, there was no activity in the pen...

Allen has retired only 12 of the 28 batters he has faced this year.

Notwithstanding Allen's meltdown, 3 runs is not going to win a lot of games.

2 HRs tonight...both solo shots. This team must lead the league in solo HRs.

Bats are putrid. Got to make some moves.

Why is Murphy still on this team?

I went to bed when it was 3-0. Meh.

Disgusting.

Not to down play what Allen is doing, but with a good defense we get out of that 9th inning with a win. The shot to CF would have been caught by Bourn or Brantley. Cannot understand why he wasn't moved to CF late in that game. There was also a couple grounder to the left side of the infield that I thought may have been stopped by a better defender or with better range at 3b.

I did read or hear on the radio that we are leading the league in balls that are hit into outs. I didn't know there was such a stat, but apparently it's broken up into fly outs, line drives hit right t infielders, and ground outs (including gidp), and we lead in all of them.

So even when we do hit the ball it's going right to defenders.

Atchison is MIA. Has worked once in the past 9 days and not at all in the last 5. I don't read a word about him in the newspaper stories.

He's certainly a long-term closer option but he could fill in while Allen gets it back together. Cody's been great since he signed and I've not heard anything about injury so I assume some time away from the pressure situations, either in setup or in Columbus working with our ace coaches, can restore his reliability. He has all his minor league options so why not take advantage of them and let him work through the problems

This team is just playing shitty baseball while every other team in the division is playing good baseball.

It's hard to pinpoint one thing or the other. Defense last night during the night was shitty, but so was Allen's pitching.

Defense has been pretty good in other games, but the rest of the pitching sucked.

The hitting sucks. Against Lefty's, Righty's, T-balls it doesn't make a difference.

It seems as though while other teams came out of the gate ready for April, the Tribe is yet again using April as extended spring training.

Au contraire, there is not a team in baseball that can match the work of 4/5 of our starting rotation. Everything else is lousy, but Kluber-Bauer-Carrasco-Salazar have been outstanding.

Well unfortunately those 4 can't work all 9 innings of every game and hit the ball and field.

It's a shame that the rest of the team has let some stellar performances down.

But my original statement was the TEAM is playing shitty baseball.

4 guys on the mound for roughly 6 innings a game aren't whole team.

Of course you are correct, but this disproves the adage about 90% of the game being pitching. [Even if we reduce that fraction to 66% to reflect the share the starters pitch.]

Usually the manager doesn't win or lose games. Last night was on Tito.
