Finally an out....after letting a run score and loading the bases.

Ump seems to be squeezing him pretty good....

And now Gomes got nailed in the calf, just below the knee, on a slide, now he's out and Perez is in to catch.

Crockett in.

Allen really stunk up the joint tonight.

It was Bad Shuey in today, and he should have been yanked after the second batter.

So much for speeding up the game. Time of game 4:16.

Game is only about 5 minutes old, and it's already 3-0, Tigers. I get the feeling that it's going to be a LONG summer.

The Tigers look like they are going to run away with the division.

Sean Marcum will be put to work very quickly.

TJ House off to an atrocious start. A walk, a single, two steals and a Cabrera HR, and a hit batter. ERA is infinite. Let's hope he can bring that down a bit.

Warnings issued to both pitchers already, b/c House hit a batter after the homer.

House is horrible!

Don't give up so soon! We still have a very solid 3 starters and possibly a good bullpen [no reason yet to think Allen's outing was anything more than a bad day at the office; although Shaw has not been good in Arizona or up north and the two lefties who are still with the team have looked abysmal.] better defense and some offense [of course Brantley perhaps heading to the DL to join Gomes is not a very good sign either] But it's a long long season and I don't know if Tigers pitching will hold up.

House has his moments, but I don't think they'd be wise to count on him for much; he's another of those marginal lefty starters we work our way through year by year, from Sowers to Laffey to Huff.

Drew Pomeranz on the other hand is going to be a good one.

28 pitches before the first out!

He retired Cespedes with 2 on and his ERA plunges to a finite number: 81.00.

I'm not giving up on the season by any means, but why can't the Indians do better against the Tigers? Too depressing--I'm switching to the other, almost-as-exciting championship rounds going on today. No no, not golf-- I want to see if Irina Krush can hang on for her seventh US Women's championship and to see if Nakamura will handle Onischuk well enough to at least go into a tie-break round in the Open section, if not win outright. Blood on the boards in St. Louis!
