1 or 2? If they lose 2 of 3 to Detroit, they drop even farther behind with games remaining dwindling away. Making up one game to their deficit by taking 2 of 3 is hardly enough to make much of difference in the long term. Lots of competition to hurdle.

Yup. No room for error now. They need to keep brooms out.

KC lost tonight. Didn't look very good against the Red Sox. So if we win the suspended game, we are 3 games out of 1st place.

Exactly JP. Oakland and Seattle have to play each other. Tribe has a 'win' in the bag vs KC not yet on the books. Toronto and NY have to play each other. KC lost a front line starting pitcher for the season. Detroit is going to win the Central in my opinion. they have too much all around talent.

So that leaves Oakland, Seattle, Cleveland, KC, Toronto and NY fighting for the two WCs. Cleveland 3 back in the loss column. Win one in Detroit and worse case it's 4 back with 14 to go and TWO spots available. I say it takes 12 - 5 the rest of the way assuming we take 3 of 4 vs KC when they come to Cleveland....

Only thing that closes the book this weekend is a Detroit sweep and Friday nights game is the one that favors the Indians....

Tigers should win nearly every game they play, based on talent and disregarding the bullpens. they are this year's top underachievers.

Down 3-1 in the 7th.....leadoff single from Kipniss....

Rayburn with a HR and a single on the night......hard liner and stopped by a great jump by 2b.....if that got over his head Kipnis would have scored from first...at least he didn't get doubled up.

Bauer must suck it up today and come through to cement his spot in the rotation for next year. No big innings, please.

I don't think Bauer's status in 2015 depends on one game. He certainly does need to avoid those big innings.

Remember though he's only 23 at which age Kluber was a combined 9-13 with an ERA of 4.73 in High A and AA.

Bauer's first inning could have been a problem, except Victor's line drive turned into a DP

I Kinsler grounded out to second.
T Hunter singled to center.
M Cabrera hit by pitch, T Hunter to second.
V Martinez lined into double play, first to shortstop, T Hunter doubled off second.

Meanwhile Indians got the second man on in each of the first three innings, but never moved him beyond 1st base.
Trying a slightly different approach in the 4th, Santana leads off with a walk. Kipnis as usual leaves him standing there, so we now pick things up once again with a man on 1st and 1 one out.
