Detroit must envy our deep talented bullpen. We have at least three pitches who would be closers for them: Allen who is terrific, Shaw who is a little less reliable, Carrasco who's stuff is as good as anyone's.

Kipnis got caught stealing in the 8th (even though replay showed he didn't) and that took the slight breeze out of the sails.

well 3 out of 4 ain't bad....let's just hope we don't carry on the same with the Twinkies.

It's hard to complain about Tomlin who achieves more than his talent level, but there are certainly better options than him to complete a rotation, It's easy to see why the Indians would prefer to have Carrasco start, but that option probably will not be tested again until next ST and by then Carlos may have established himself as the No. 2 man in the pen.

and thinking about the pen, Cody Allen is a real pleasure to have out there. He's so much more of a classic closer than Wickman or Borowski or Perez or Axford: when he's sharp, which is nearly always, he overpowers hitters and can be counted on for vast number of strikeouts. What a find!

More good news for Salazar, he will get the opportunity to show the Indians his progress when he makes a start for them at Minnesota on Tuesday night.
