It's tough to win a DH, esp. with Scherzer going for the Tigers tonight, but IF we win tonight, we move to only 4.5 back...

Really tough when McCallister walks three straight and scores a run

And Dickerson ties it up with one swing of the bat.

Both pitchers settled down a bit....till the top of the 6th with two outs where the former swashbuckler DICKERSON HITS HIS 2nd HOME RUN to pretty much the same spot he hit the first one.
2-1 tribe with all runs and rbi's scored by Dickerson.

Of course they tied it up in the 7th.....
through the magic of time we are in the 9th inning.
Perez just hit a leadoff double.
The the scallywag who hit two home runs strikes out bunting????? I can't remember the last time I saw anyone square up with a 3-2 count.....then pull back and get called strike 3.
Kipnis takes a 4 pitch walk.....setting up the double play for Aviles to hit into .
Asdruble Cabrerra in to pinch run for Perez.
Aviles pops up.
Hero time for Brantley.
Wild pitch moves runners to 2nd and 3rd.
Intentional walk to Brantley.
Up comes Santana with bases loaded
3 RUN DOUBLE!!!!!!!!!!!
TRIBE ON TOP 5-2!!!!
Chiz strikes out on 3 pitches to end the inning.

That double by Santana is out of almost any other ballpark. Huge, clutch after intentionally walking Brantley

PS - don't forget the excellent key inning by Carrasco - cutting through that killer middle of the Detroit order.

8. Carrasco threw a scoreless eighth inning in Game 2, picking up the victory. His fastball hit 98 mph on the radar gun. Carrasco has a 1.53 ERA since moving to the bullpen.

Cleveland goes as Kipnis goes. In Indians wins this season entering Saturday night, he was hitting .295 with seven doubles, five home runs, and 20 RBI. In losses, he has hit .224 with seven doubles, a triple, and ten runs batted in.
Entering game two of Saturday’s double-dip with Detroit, Kipnis was hitting .317 (19-for-60) with one double, two home runs, five stolen bases, and eight runs batted in during the month of July.
The Indians will need more than that from Kipnis to contend. But one thing he has shown over his career is that he is capable of heating up over the summer months. There is no better time for the Tribe than right now.
