Not quite that far. 1991 - Chris James:

Chisenhall's nine RBIs matched a franchise record, which was first set on May 4, 1991, by Chris James. This, however, marked the first time in Cleveland's long, storied history that a player had at least three home runs, five hits and nine RBIs in a single game.

Simply put, Chisenhall enjoyed arguably the greatest offensive night in team history.

Chisenhall became the only the fourth player in all of baseball the past 100 years to have at least three homers, five hits and nine RBIs in a game, and the only one of the group to not record an out in the game. The last player to accomplish the feat was Boston's Fred Lynn, who did so against Detroit on June 18, 1975

Well, safe to say Santana can kiss 3B goodbye. For the majority of the time anyways.

Too funny. Tribe world spends all that time "discussing" the merits of Santana at 3B, then it becomes a moot point.

Hardly mattered among his hitting highlights but Chiz made his 9th error at third, in his limited time at the corner. He might be better fit at first, in fact.

Too crowded over there. He can be a "Miguel-type" 3B instead.

if Lonnie becomes a Miggy-type career 3b both offensively and defensively I'll be way more than satisfied! And we can finally praise a successfully drafted and developed 1st round pick.

It's time for Giambi to go.

In a game, where pitchers look like they're playing slow-pitch softball, you can't go 0-5 with 3 Ks.

Time to hang them up.

yup.

Sure he's a great guy to have on the bench, and in the clubhouse, but his presence is requiring the use of the DH slot. When you are batting less than Justin Beibers weight....in June....it's time to go. I mean we could put Santana in the DH Slot to hit below .200

Let him go and keep him on as a "Special Assistant to the Bench Coach" or "Ballboy Handler"....ok that didn't sound right..

Still there are other options,

Nick Swisher was 0-2 with a strikeout in a rehab assignment with the double A Rubber Ducks from Akron, Ohio.

Indians can't stand success, it seems. Defense is stinking up the joint again tonight!

That was the worst combo of bad pitches and shitty defense I've seen from the Tribe in a while.

Had to figure they'd drop off a bit after last night though....kind of always goes that way.

Down 6-0 in the 5th now, as Kluber gives up a Hosmer homer.

Tough luck for Kluber. Cabrera screws up the double play by dropping the throw from Kipnis that should have ended the inning with no runs scored. Then, with a run in and the bases loaded, Santana screws up the second double play ball of the inning and only gets the out at first allowing the second run of the inning to score and then the flood gates opened.

It looks like this is going to be tough season for the defense.

Indians finally break the ice in the 8th and cut the lead in half, 6-3. Defense is the goat in this game.
