Santana draws walks which is why he might be useful in the top 6 somewhere.
Let him draw his walks batting 9th. He doesn't deserve to bat any higher than 7th. He's guilty until proven innocent.

I'm with joez.

Like Axford gets bumped to a lesser role, same with Santana. He tore it up from the 8 hole the other night, hopefully he continues to do that and then move him up.

Also, in the AL with the DH, it's less of an issue to bat down in the lineup. It's so much easier to score from any spot in the lineup.

I really don't have anything against Santana. Many consider him a star and treat him as such. The fact is, Santana is an average type ball player and to expect him to play like a superstar isn't fair to him or to others in the lineup that may be producing at a greater clip, which isn't saying much so far.

As far as Swisher and Bourn are concerned, I like them. I just had my concerns giving them top dollars. I just didn't think they were worth the contracts they receive. It just my opinion and that's all it is. I guess I'm just expecting them to produce at contract's worth.

joez wrote:Whatever happens when Swisher returns, neither Swisher nor Santana should bat higher than 7th in the lineup. I was surprised to see Santana hitting in Chisenhall's spot in the lineup today. Chisenhall getting no respect. Chisenhall and Murphy should be hitting in front of Santana and Swisher until either indicates that they can be more productive.
Chisenhall is batting 5th, Santana is batting 6th.

Chisenhall has been red hot, Santana is getting his groove back this series.

If you put murphy any higher, he won't be as productive, he's had a hell of a series against his former team though.

Kottaras is batting .600 out of the 9 hole....Giambi .134 in the 8 slot.

Hopefully Giambi pulls a hammy or something when Swisher comes back.

8-1 bottom of the 2nd. House has a nice cushy lead....lets see if he can hold it.

WoW! What a year Chisenhall is having!!

Could any one in Cleveland feel the draft from that last out Santana just made in the inning? I felt it here. I thought it was the air conditioner.

Santana has to go back to the basics of hitting. He's trying to kill every ball he swings at instead of just trying to make contact and putting the ball in play. I also think that the toe tapping non-sense has to stop! I also think the high leg kick has to stop. I'd like to see less animation and more Cabrera/Brantley/Chisenhall type hitting. The less animation the better in my opinion. Killing every ball Santana swings at has to stop or bench his ass. There was no need to swing as hard as hie did on that last out.

Baron! What I see is an out of control Santana. He's got to temper that swing of his and, as I posted above, be less animated.

Couldn't agree more on Giambi, but then again, I'm prejudiced. :P

5 slot seems to be working for him.

17 runs on 17 hits....

I guess that's what you call being in a zone. I think we have to go all the way back to Colavito to find a game like this.
