We came back with a run in the 1st off Max Scherzer; one in the 2nd as Chiz and Aviles both double, and tie it up! still in the 2nd on Brantley {who else}'s 2 run single. Then Murphy doubled in MIchael. Swisher singled in David and the Tribe had a 5 run inning off the Cy Young winner of 2013.

Zach immediately gave one back on Victor's 12th homer and after walking the other Martinez was sent home. Atchison in after 2 1/3 terrible innings by McAllister.

Chisenhall leads off the bottom of the 3rd with his homer (his 1st) and Tribe is up by two, 7-5, after 3 wild and crazy innings.

It's now our bullpen vs. Max Scherzer and we get a 2-run spot.

Same after 4 innings. Rzep comes in to start the 5th and walks Cabrera. Then Victor doubles so now tying runs on base with no one out. Austin Jackson sac fly splits the difference to 1 run.

Nick Castellanes doubles to tie the score. Rzep did not help today. Carrasco comes in with a chance to make Rzep the loser; Carlos has been pretty much lights out at letting inherited runners score, but he fails today and the score stays tied as we head to the bottom of the 5th.

Scherzer stays in. 80 pitches so far so he could be around another couple innings if Ausmus so chooses.

But he's greeted by Jason Giambi's first hit of the season which seems to suggest this is not really Max's day, if we didn't know that already.

wild pitch moves Jason to 2nd and the incredible Carlos Santana strikes out.

And Chis and Aviles also retired so we're even with 4 frames to go. Bullpen vs Bullpen, although I suppose Scherzer is not done yet.

Tribe defense of course is a problem for our side; Santana passed ball on a Carrasco strike out puts the first man on in the 6h. David pops up and Chisenhall doesn't drop it. One away.

With two away Tigers lose Cabrera and Ausmus to ejection, but Carlos doesn't notice the difference and walks substitute Don Kelly to put two on with two away and Victor, already 3-3 comes to the plate.

McAllister's last 6 starts:

5 innings 4 runs
4 1/3 4 runs
6 2/3 scoreless!
4 1/3 5 runs
1 1/3 8 runs
2 1/3 5 runs

Total: 24 innings, 26 runs and that includes one shutout

Bourn singles to start the Tribe 6th. Scherzer's 99th pitch results in an Asdrubal GIDP

Pitch No. 100 turns into Michael Brantley's 11th double. Coaching visit to mound. Will Tigers lift Scherzer this early in the game? He probably has another couple dozen pitches in him.

He stays in and retires Murphy on a popup and we're tied with 3 innings to go.

We've used 3 long relievers. Tigers none. Maybe that gives them an advantage? But their pen is pretty bad and we still have Allen and Shaw and Kyle Crockett available, among others.

Carrasco stays out there for the 7th. If he can handle it, this is why he can in theory be useful as a long reliever.

Carlos gets two outs, then allows a single and walks catcher Brian Holaday bringing us back to the top of the order. That made 51 pitchers for Carrasco. Here comes John Axford, who has virtually no experience this year entering a game with RISP. We'll see what happens. He faces Worth the Tiger SS.
