Would it make sense to bring back Carlos Carrasco?

No, it would not. Great guy. 5.50 ERA. MIrabella has been quoted at saying he doesn't want to trade for someone just to throw innings but who can bring quality; Carlos is past that level of success, it appears. Don't want Kluber or Clevinger or heaven forbid Bauer back either.

after the bullpen was burned through over the weekend, it is hard to imagine Karinchak not getting a call up today.
The only other pitchers on the 40 man roster are
Cody Morris who pitched 2 not very good innings on Saturday
Joey Cantillo who was bombed in his start Friday: 8 runs in 2 2/3 innings. after 3 previous very effective outings
Battenfield who strarted Sunday and wasn't any good once again
someone named Vaillmont picked up recently on waivers who's terrible and pitched 1 2/3 innings Sunday-- he has one strength: we can DFA him with no regrets
Gaddis 6.46 ERA for Columbus pitched Saturday
Bieber on the IL
Quantrill on the IL.
Worth thinking about is again promoting Daniel Norris who's done very well in his July appearances and could fill in Vaillmont's spot on the 40 man roster; and add a lefty to the pen while Hentges and perhaps Herrin too return to Columbus for recharging

At the same time you refuse to recall your current best RH bat that can play RF even after getting shut out by a lefty again. I think someone forgot how many doubles Oscar hit last year that led to runs being scored or put in position to score.

Hopefully the next couple of weeks sort all of this out.
Hey rusty - what the heck they even used Arias as a defensive sub for Rosario. Time to give him more and more starts at SS - we at least know he is a defensive upgrade

White Sox sent RHP Bryan Shaw outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
The 35-year-old hurler was designated for assignment earlier in the week, but he passe through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as extra depth for the White Sox at the Triple-A level. He surrendered eight runs in 7 2/3 innings during his time with the big league club.

Dodges home page said Syn... wasn't looking very good in his 2 rehab starts. And he's now on our IL. But he must have passed whatever physical they gave him to satisfy the FO to compete the trade.
Perhaps Norris will get the start tomorrow. In fact that explains why he didn't get in to yesterday's game. Scoreboard says it's TBD vs Giolito. I guess it's now TBD vs TBD

If I could get a major league player at a position of need or more I would trade him. I will never forget how he absolutely looked like he was pitching slow pitch softball in the playoffs last year. Did not get out of the first.

Funny to hear people refer to David Fry as "young David Fry." Fry is 1.5 years older than Josh Naylor and is the 5th oldest position player on the 26-man roster. He and Amed Rosario share the same birthday 11/20/95. Only players older are Gallagher, Bell, Ramirez & Straw.
