Indians just got screwed on a call, even after the review clearly showed it was a catch!

Well, officially what has happened is an error by fair fielding, nonhitting ss A. Cabrera; followed by 2 base error on RF Johnson.
Bauer records what should be his 3rd out, which is the first out, and a run scores.

Why have replay if the umps aren't going to pay attention to what it shows them?

He's certainly getting good separation on his pitches: fast ball recorded as 94-96; cutter at 85; curve at 75-76

Now they are saying they changed the rule about transferring the ball from glove to throwing hand. Even if the ball is caught, then dropped on the transfer, it's not a catch!

Records his 4th out of the inning on a swinging strike 3 on a 96 mph fastball.
And out number 5 on a ground out to first on a first pitch curve ball.
Bauer didn't get flustered and limited the damage to 1 run on no hits no walks and 2 errors.

Now the ball to Johnson is recorded as a hit. Still an unearned run.

Tribe out quickly on a K, a 5-3 and backwards K.

Bauer strikes out the side in the 2nd.
This is the guy the Dbacks drafted and who we traded Choo to get, I believe.

Asdrubal delivers in a 3rd inning single to put Gomes in scoring position, and Aviles brought him in with a sac fly.
No K's in the Padres' fourth, but Bauer sets them down in order again. Looking good Trevor! Pitch count is 60 which is a bit high, but blame that on the extra baserunners in the first.

Last year's plague of walks by Bauer is gone today; he issues his first free pass with 2 out in the 5th, and then retires the side. 1-1 mid 5. Bauer ERA for 2014 is 0.00. 77 pitches thrown, so he gets to pitch the 6th and leave it up to Shaw and others.

I've never heard of Robbie Erlin, but I don't know much about NL players in general unless they are big stars. He apparently was a 3rd round pick of the Rangers, so must have been considered a pretty good prospect. This appears to be the best game he's ever pitched in the majors, which is the same for Bauer.
Doesn't seem to have Bauer's stuff; my PBP says his fast ball comes in at 89-90.
And Cabrera doubles with 2 out on one of those not so fastballs. Aviles with a chance to break the tie.

I was predicting that Bauer would be promoted to Cleveland by July. I want to change that prediction to May, or, don't send him back at all. I saw his first game with Columbus and it was every bit as good as his start today. I think he may have figured it out.

Takes an 89 mph 2-seamer for a strike.
And takes a 89 mph 4-seamer for a second strike.
Fouls off a curveball.
Takes a ball on a slider
Fours a 4-seamer with Cabrera running.
Takes ball 2 on a 90 mph 4-seam fb
And fans on a changeup.
That's a lot of different pitches offered in on at bat.
