Thought about this myself. And of course this does depend on who is available.
Perfect world I do think they get a DH level bat but he could play outfield too (give guys a day off) as well as DH. Heck even a good infield bat for the same purpose.
But obviously 1B/DH or OF/DH would be ideal. I agree one more large bat to hit in the 3, 4, 5 slot. Really on a championship team you wouldn't think Naylor would be the cleanup or that the DH would be as weak as we often have.

Discussions about players future with the G's should wait until the off season.
In the meantime, we've got a WS to win with the players we have right now.

Sea, maybe you missed the memo. There is not a lot of posting going on right now. Any discussion is welcomed.

10:26 — I asked Bieber if he threw his bullpen today. Yes, he said, a light one. It was 22 pitches to be exact. But he still “absolutely” wants the ball Monday night if they’ll give it to him. Doesn’t sound as if they will. The Guardians are holding steadfast that Bieber would only pitch in an emergency (think 15-inning game) and that realistically he isn’t available.

for those who pay attention all season long, how many of the 50 players who got into games for the Guardians can you name?
I missed out on a good half dozen when I looked through final season stats. Thinking about how team will allocate bonus shares: based on games played more than anything I suppose.

Missing 6 would be the best anyone here would do.

I thought Zimmer was with the team when they came north but he was gone already: to make room for Kwan. That was a Good Move!

Guardians star José Ramírez will undergo surgery on his right hand early next month, agent Rafa Nieves tells Enrique Rojas of ESPN (Twitter link). The procedure is not expected to impact his readiness for next Spring Training. Tenchy Rodriguez was first to report (on Twitter) that Ramírez would have to undergo surgery.
Ramírez first suffered the injury midseason, Rojas adds, but he played through the issue as the Guardians ran down and eventually cruised to an AL Central title.
Whether directly related to the thumb issue or not, the four-time All-Star slowed down after an otherworldly first few months. Ramírez carried a .292/.389/.641 line through 244 plate appearances on June 13. By measure of wRC+, he was the fifth-best qualified hitter in the game to that point. Ramírez first suffered the thumb injury at some point during a series against the Rockies that ranged from June 14-16, however (link via Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com). From that point forward, he posted a .273/.336/.446 line in 441 trips to the plate. Even the seemingly diminished version of Ramírez was an above-average player, but his second half was well below the MVP-caliber form he’s shown at his best.

Cleveland with more nominees for Gold Gloves than any other AL team [well, the Yankees and Blue Jays both wound up with 5 including late season trades] Full story is in Articles. 3 nominees per position [including "utility" so the other 12 teams share 15 nominees.
Surprise, surprise the White Sox have none. They need to reconsider how to field a team.

Gloves that sparkle are nice but bats that thunder are better.

so, will Zimmer get a cut of the Guards post season and the Phillies post season?

since Zimmer's role with the G's was one day on the roster and no appearances, I doubt it from our end. He wasn't on Phil much longer. Mostly he pinch ran for the Jays

Oscar Mercado also with both CLE and PHI this year. He had 121 AB with us, 1 with the Phillies. He should get a partial share from the Guardians but not sure if one at bat earns him 1/500 share from the phils.
