Surprise: all the new kids went hitless. Kwan however keeps his batting streak alive.

Andres Gimenez has an .858 OPS.
That’s 18th best in baseball.
He has the same OPS as Vladdy Jr.
Let me say that again- he has the same OPS as Vladdy Jr.

And the other piece of the Lindor trade - Amed Rosario - made a spectacular defensive play yesterday!!
In addition of course he continues to hit. Even with power lately. He is a key piece to this offense.
Hamilton was talking today about how Sarbaugh has worked with Amed on his fielding. Big improvement.
This could be interesting - Rosario may be there at SS to stay after all!!
And if so it has implications.

Either way it certainly looks like Rosario and Giminez are the keystone combo of the present and future. Rocchio will challenge them in 2024.

As he always does on promotion to a new level, Benson is hitting not at all. 0-11. When he goes up to High A, or AA or AAA they let him stay at that level and struggle and he comes back the next spring much better. Not expecting him to get such a long leash in Cleveland.

The first tweet/picture shows the average age of pitching and batters for all MLB teams. The Guardians have the youngest pitching staff and the youngest batters. While the don't show the median ages, it looks like the average batter is 28 1/2 and the average pitcher is 29.
The second one shows how the various CBSSports analysts predicted the teams would finish in the AL Central. Only one analyst had the team finishing 3rd in the division. Most had the Guardians as the 4th best team. In fairness, the biggest offseason move was to add Maile (or maybe to add a new hitting coach and revamping the hitting approach).

The one pick of the Tigers for first certainly was prophetic.
