Boras wants his players to go to teams where they may get an extension after the season. Like Beltran and SF.

Donna-
thanks, I'll check it out.
The movie is a semi-documentary of Sportscenter, circa Olbermann and Patrick.

If the Rays really want to get rid of Upton, I hope the Tribe is listening.
His price tag will go up if the Astros move Pence first.

Sports Night was created by the same guy who did the West Wing TV show. Aaron Sorkin. I loved both shows. Extremely clever writing.

Tigers, Indians Pursuing Jason Marquis
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [July 29 at 4:34pm CST]
4:34pm: The Indians have joined the Tigers in the pursuit of Marquis, tweets ESPN's Jim Bowden. The two division rivals appear to be chasing many of the same starting pitchers. The Nationals are asking a lot, as they reportedly want teams to take on Marquis' remaining $2.5MM and surrender a prospect.
12:21am: The Tigers are discussing a trade for Jason Marquis, according to Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports. Detroit GM Dave Dombrowski has been looking for starting pitching this month and has had interest in Marquis.
Though the Tigers have pursued others, including Hiroki Kuroda and Jeremy Guthrie, they're not sure that Kuroda would accept a deal to Detroit and appear to have struggled to reach a deal with the Orioles for Guthrie. Tigers checked in on Doug Fister, but they were turned off by the Mariners' asking price. They contacted the Rockies about Ubaldo Jimenez as well.
The Tigers recently bumped Phil Coke from a rotation that includes Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer, Rick Porcello and Brad Penny.

I've not been tracking, but it seems like "Acta Ball" has changed quite a bit from our 30-15 start.
Didn't we have more bunts, run and hits, etc. at the beginning of the season?
Tonight's 12-0 loss wouldn't have mattered, of course.
Best hope is that our guys get pissed off at themselves about getting no hit and then shellacked back to back.

Two worst back to back performances since Municipal Stadium.
Acta should quit making excuses for the players.

The way Carrasco has melted down since his 6 week hot stretch, you don't have to wonder why the Tribe is in the rumor mill going after a starting pitcher.
Heck, Fausto has probably moved ahead of Carrasco in the SP pecking order.
Masterson, Tomlin and then some tumblin'.

As of now, the acquisition of Fester gives Detroit a clear edge on the Tribe.
The bullpen arm coming their way in that deal is pretty good too.

As to Jimenez:
The Indians were willing to discuss southpaw pitching prospect Drew Pomeranz, reports Troy E. Renck of the Denver Post. Pomeranz is ranked anywhere from #14 to #35 among all teams by prospect experts.

Michael Bourn Rumors: Saturday
By Tim Dierkes [July 30 at 11:59am CST]
Astros GM Ed Wade is keeping an open mind on trades, so it's possible outfielder Michael Bourn and others could still go. The latest on Bourn:
The Indians and Reds are the main suitors for Bourn right now, tweets Stephen Goff of Examiner.com, but he'd be surprised if the center fielder is traded.
The Braves are not one of the main teams in on Bourn yet, tweets Rosenthal.
"The Nationals, Braves, Indians and Reds are among the clubs with varying levels of interest in Bourn," report Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports. The Indians are the new suitor here.

Price Won't Be Too High On Ludwick
By Tim Dierkes [July 30 at 1:05pm CST]
The price to acquire Padres right fielder Ryan Ludwick won't be too high, tweets Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He says the Indians are still interested. SI's Jon Heyman considers the Tribe the favorite, as it seems like the Braves and Reds are concentrating on others.
Given Ludwick's .238/.301/.372 line in 416 plate appearances, unloading most of his remaining $2.27MM should be GM Jed Hoyer's primary goal.
