C great defender; hit OK when he's not injured; backup good defender cannot hit even a little bit
1b certainly the worst in the majors; probably no better than than most in AAA; backup may hit homers, will definitely strike out a ton
2b very solid offense and defense; not a star; good ballplayer
ss good to better than good defender; might become a good hitter, maybe not
3b one of the best hitters in baseball
lf assuming spring training doesn't signify he's your average acceptable LF
cf two guys competed for the job and both lost; so we're trying someone who's never played there; pretty good hitter, don't let him try to steal; backup has a solid track record of not much
rf potential has not yet been proven or disproven
dh about your standard dh, maybe a bit less than average
utility IF has shown power; fortunately he's learning how to play 1b
utility OF has a nice round average of 0 in spring training, but usually can hit lefties pretty well
which adds up to: Clearly below average offense; with an upper limit of average; and a lower limit of godawful
defensively above average in the interior; outfield not so hot
