Not terribly concerned that Hedges cannot hit even a little bit He won't play a lot and he's a good catcher and our pitching relies on solid backstops.

I;m sure we all wondered about James and the Red Sox but apparently he has some longtime business relationship with someone else in Boston's management. But sure would like to have him own the Spiders.

rusty - he's just doing his best kenm impression. Doing quite well I might add.
On the other hand I AM noticing:
Franmil Reyes hitting quite well.
Cesar Hernandez a steal at the price we got him.
Can't wait to see Zimmer have regular at bats (until he's injured
)
Jose Ramirez rounding into form
Gimenez a gem
BTW, late spring training trades are pretty common - wouldn't surprise me to see Amed Rosario in one of those.

Competition for jobs on this team comes down to picking between awful and Jag. Nothing special. Time to trade some pitching for some upgrades.
My best Kenm impression comes from having to spend $10K on a new HVAC for the house. I go between mad-as-hell and extremely grouchy.

Orioles acquired RHP Adam Plutko from the Orioles for cash considerations.
Plutko appeared in six games during Cactus League play, posting a 5.00 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 11/2 K/BB ratio over nine innings of work. Given the current state of the Orioles rotation, there's a reasonable chance that Plutko could work his way into a rotation spot.

I think it's really cool that Bauers and Gamel can both win jobs hitting 194

When you're out of options you're not worth much. Looks like Plutko was not going to make the team. Guess the Tribe was going to have to put him on waivers A few bucks is better than nothing.

Bauers and Gamel are just in extended ST. They could have cut them now or cut them later. They could be gone by mid May.
