Can't help but think the team is on a death watch with Lindor. He is not having fun, he is not playing particularly well and could be a real distraction in the clubhouse. Kind of like "this was fun, but I am not going to be here much longer, so good luck guys". Also, we are making slug pitchers look good as most all our guys try to hit 5 run homers each time up. Hernandez is probably the only exception, I love the way he plays.

Taking a look at the current roster, it's really weird that they keep 3 catchers on hand, when they could certainly use someone who can hit. They can't think of anyone else for the 28th spot, so sure let's keep Sandy Leon around even though we now have Hedlges.

Right? Even just give Daniel Johnson a shot.
As I said in the other folder it's the guys who are usually reliable for us who have tanked this shortened season.

and whatever happened to Jake Bauers? Like most of our OF contingent, he was a high draft pick "professional hitter' who doesn't

8th place in the AL makes the playoffs and we'll have to keep losing steadily to miss out completely, but no reason to suspect that they'll alive very long with no hitting, a weakening bullpen, and starting pitching that lacks proven talents like Bauer and Clevinger.

they've sunk into a tie with the Yankees [NY holds a tie breaker] and hold a 4 1/2 game lead on the Mariners with 13 games left. If they keep playing like they did the past week, they could lose it, but I'll guess they win a few more games.

Johnson Zimmer and Bauers all hanging around Eastlake. They must all be looking pretty crappy to not get moved to the big club.
All the lousy outfielders in Cleveland have options remaining, so ship any random 3 of them away for the final two weeks, and let these other bums flail away.

Curious how much better the team would be doing with Francona in charge? Alomar has certainly not made the case for himself for a full time job in Cleveland or elsewhere.

Remember how bad Carlos Santana was last time he was in the last year of his contract with the Indians?
Yeah, unfortunately I do too.

Much as us fans don't want to hear this - the expanded playoffs makes the odds for every team (16!!) in the playoffs much more remote.
Whereas you can still say "anything can happen in the playoffs" and it is true - it is LESS likely this season to make a run through the extra teams.
So forgive me if I speculate that the front office grabbed the glut of future assets with the Clevinger deal figuring this season is a wash.
And I can hope that WHEN (not if) they trade Lindor this offseason they pick up a bat superior to Lindor's. The way he is hitting this season that isn't such a tall order after all.
You can always pick up a slick fielding shortstop (the Orioles STOLE Jose Iglesias) if necessary.

The first round of the playoffs are expected to take place at home ballparks of the higher seed teams, but there will be a bubble structure for the Division Series, League Championship Series and World Series.
Per multiple previous reports, the ALDS will reportedly take place at Dodger Stadium (Los Angeles) and PETCO Park (San Diego) with the ALCS also taking place at PETCO. The NLDS will reportedly be played at Minute Maid Park (Houston) and Globe Life Field (Arlington) with the NLCS also taking place at Globe Life. The entire World Series is slated to occur at Globe Life Field, as well.
Details were still being worked out as of a few days ago, but the goal of a bubble structure is to utilize stringent safety protocols to prevent a COVID-19 outbreak and ensure the completion of the 2020 season. Stay tuned.

Over half of baseball make the playoffs. No big deal.
Home field no big deal.
Baseball this season...no big deal.

Maybe they should fire the Temporary Manager and try someone else for the next two weeks; or trade the guys in Cleveland for the kids in Eastlake; this quite a mess right now.

friend watching the game on Indians TV last night said Rick Manning referred to the baseball as a "pigskin". Rick hasn't been around long enough to know a pigskin from horsehide?
