Maybe I posted this before, but I am interested in what Xzavion Curry's strengths and weaknesses are; since he has started his pro career with 3 shutout 5+ innings outings. His 2019 scouting report before he was drafted in the 7th round:

Xzavion Curry
Signed: $125,000

Curry has worked as a starter for Georgia Tech his entire college career, tossing 57 innings with a 10.36 strikeouts per nine. His fastball sits in the lower 90s and tops out at 94 mph while also throwing two breaking pitches. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound righthander has a strong body and profiles more as a bullpen arm in pro ball.

His pro debut:

15 1/3 innings 4 hits 3 walks no runs 23 strikeouts.

Fred Beene.
Bobby Shantz, no he was a lefty
Luis Tiant was 5-11

Wow, you brought back memories mentioning Freddy Beane!

That little battler pitched many years here in Rochester (AAA for Baltimore at the time). And a feisty battler he was.

Beene and Buskey both came in one of those awful deals with the Yankees for either Chambliss or Nettles. Also Charlie Spikes Rusty Torres maybe Joel Skinner did we get Fritz Peterson and Steve Kline in the Nettles deal? Too much trouble to look it up.

Not cheating, wasn't Peterson part of the Eckersly trade with Boston?

Eckersley, off the top of my head, went for Ted Cox, Mike Paxton maybe, another pitcher Pizzaro, or I am back to the Ken Harrelson trade, there was another pitcher and maybe a catcher. We used to trade a lot with the Red Sox.

And back father with the Twins: Jim Perry for Jack Kralick, Jim Grant for Lee Stange. And then back with the Red Sox, we swapped Gary Bell for I'm not remembering all of these anymore. Getting old. And there was a swap of young guys for over the hill Dick Radatz. Too much !!

I know we got Tris Speaker from the Red Sox too, but that one was when my dad was a kid.

Little Tribe trivia regarding Ken "Hawk" Harrelson.

Went to a game after he was traded to the Tribe and he was up in the stands signing autographs during a rain delay.

He was the closest the Indians had to a celebrity back in that time.

Some roster movement going on with Columbus pitching perhaps to bring in replacements for whoever is sent to Cleveland or maybe to cover injuries AA mediocrity Tanner Tully pitched for the clippers yesterday And a couple free agents added to the roster

Scott Moss left last start with back pain
Logan Allen has pitched worse there than for Cleveland'

Tuesday results, from the bottom up"

Lynchburg fell to 13-6
https://www.milb.com/gameday/hillcats-v ... ame=649317

Yainer Diaz 2 singles and a walk, not sure about his defense behind the plate but is a consistant mostly singles hitter 357 OPS 830
JRodriguez single and double hE'S AT 338 with 895 OPS

Xz Curry allowed his first runs but again fanned plenty: 4 2/3 5 3 3 1 9 32 strikeouts in 20 innings 4 walks That has the looks of a lot of Indians minor league pitching prospect. That strikeout total leads the league Since only 2 pitchers have enough innings to qualify for other categories, he also leads the league in ERA, WHIP and AVG 1.35 0.65 .130

BA prospect report for May 25 games:

CLE AAA #2 Nolan Jones, 3B 3 1 0 0 0.172 BB (12), [they're nice enough to not refer to his 3 strikeouts]
CLE AAA #3 Andres Gimenez, SS4 0 2 0 0.206 2B (7), [ that avg includes the majors so is misleading; he's 316 in AAA]
CLE AA #4 Tyler Freeman, SS 4 2 2 0 0.361 BB (5),
CLE AA #5 Bo Naylor, C 4 0 0 0 0.152 BB (9),
CLE AAA #7 Gabriel Arias, SS 4 0 0 0 0.237
CLE HiA #8 Brayan Rocchio, SS 5 0 1 0 0.214 2 SB (6),
CLE HiA #11 Aaron Bracho, 2B 4 0 0 0 0.178
CLE LoA #12 Gabriel Rodriguez, SS 4 0 1 0.200
CLE MAJ #19 Owen Miller, SS 4 0 0 0 0.351 [another season total; he's not hitting 351 for the Indians you may have noticed]
CLE AAA #22 Bobby Bradley, 1B 3 0 0 0 0.191
CLE LoA #28 Yordys Valdes, SS 4 0 0 0 0.200
CLE MAJ #30 Yu Chang, 1B 2 0 0 0 0.145 continues to excel
