Maybe I am just being my crazy self again, but perhaps a shuffling of the lineup might make sense. Jose has been heating up as has Kipnis to a lesser extent. Lets put Jose in the 3 hole, move Carlos to cleanup and move Kipnis down the lineup. Kip and Perez could break up the Bauers/Allen/Luplow/Naquin group. All 4 of those guys have been showing some signs of life. The top 4 and the bottom 5 could both be formidable parts. We have 127 hrs this year, and that bottom 5 has contributed 61 of that total. I think adding Frazier would become more of a defensive liability.

seems pretty reasonable UD, Kipnis had a spurt but he'd be better down in the 6-7-8 vicinity. Jose is ready, it appears, for his proper place in the heart of the order.

I'm you knew it TFIR and were just kidding, but Yanks can't give us Sheffield, since they don't have him anymore. And he has struggled significantly in the Seattle farm system this year; one of the biggest demotions among top 100 prospects, dropped about 50 spots, although he's harnessing his control again lately back in AAA after a step down for awhile]

Oh yeah, I do seem to remember seeing Yanks traded Sheffield. No biggie, don't want him anyway. Give me Frazier, Feyereisen, and a better prospect than Sheffield and I'd be good.

Is Feyeriesan doing much? hadn't notice. Don't want Ben Heller back, too?

Yes he is doing great at AAA.. This season, in 42 innings he's allowed only 22 hits, he's struck out 65. walked somewhat too many at 19.
But if he's that good why haven't the Yankees ever brought him for bullpen depth? 26th man? something?

Not surprisingly JB isn't on the NYY midseason top 30; not a lot of relievers too, although Karinchak and Sandlin make our revised list.
I'm guessing you can' t open this link to the NY list, but if you're looking a particular position, let me know and I'll let you know who they like.

If you want a major league ready pitcher here's the top guy rated, at No. 13 Michael King. In fact he's the only anywhere near the majors pitcher on the top 30
Scouting Report: Many pitchers in the Yankees’ system have a higher upside than King, but he is one of the safest bets to have a big league career, even if it’s most likely as a back-of-the-rotation starter. While none of King’s pitches is truly a knockout, his plus command amplifies his entire arsenal. He throws a pair of fastballs--a two-seamer and a cutter, the latter of which was added in Triple-A. The cutter is thrown in the high 80s, while the two-seamer averaged 92 mph. His two-seamer is his money pitch, and it has above-average action. He’s particularly adept at starting the two-seamer at the hip of lefthanded hitters and bringing it back over the inside corner for a strike. He backs up his fastballs with a changeup that is near plus and an average slider, though his command helps each pitch play up.
The Future: King will probably head back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to begin 2019 as he prepares for an in-season callup.

The Yankees bullpen is the best and deepest in MLB. And it's not close.
All the more reason they might deal him.

Another avenue:
TREVOR BAUER
SP, CLEVELAND INDIANS
Jon Paul Morosi of MLB.com reports that the Padres "have emerged as the most serious suitor" for Trevor Bauer.
The Padres have been connected to Bauer since the offseason and evidently still have interest. It's still very much a question as to how motivated the Indians are to trade Bauer since they're currently in playoff position.
However, it's possible that they'll consider it if they could acquire an impact hitter or two that's major league-ready. Franmil Reyes, Hunter Renfroe and Luis Urías would qualify.
The Padres are four games below .500 and four games out of a Wild Card spot, but Bauer is under team control through 2020.

Obviously it's just my worthless 2 cents as my friend often says, but if the Padres offered Luis Urias in a deal for Bauer the Tribe would be tripping all over themselves to say YES before they change their minds.
I doubt he is on the table.
But they have WAY too many outfielders so Renfroe or Franmil Reyes (both right handed powerhouses) might be in play for sure if the Padres add in a good young pitcher - and they have many of those as well.
Paddack would be out of play I am sure - but maybe Logan Allen?
It's definitely a fit between these 2 clubs if they can figure it out.
Again, just my worthless 2 cents but I do follow prospects to an extent in other organizations. If the Padres offered me Logan Allen and either Reyes/Renfroe I'd be signing on the dotted line.
If they offered Urias (wouldn't surprise me if that is who the Tribe is asking for...and why it isn't getting done) then duh. (By the way Urias is a 2B so I am sure you don't have to connect the dots in that scenario.
)

To me Urias would have to be in deal. If we were talking rental then that is something else but Bauer is signed next year too. Have to get a top guy. And not like we are asking for Tatis or Gore, their top 2 prospects.
Urias along with Naylor or Reyes or Renfroe, then I’d be interested.
We need to reunite the Naylor brothers.

HB - I'm thinking the Tribe brass is thinking the exact same way. Same last winter.
At the same time, I can see why SD would not go with it.
Goes without saying then I am not optimistic here. It's a fit theoretically but that doesn't always mean a deal gets struck.

Yeah, wouldn’t be surprised if that is the hold up. Padres don’t have much else going on at 2B. But I’d stick to those guns.

Whereas if it were me I'd take Renfro/Reyes and Logan Allen.

I have no interest in Allen. But Mackenzie Gore on the other hand.... I’d take him instead of Urias.
