Exactly. For that to work they would need Lindor and JRam to be themselves. Strike 1 with injury and sucking.
They'd need good performances from their 5 starters. Strike 2 with injuries and even Kluber/Bauer not reaching last year's levels.
They'd need to hit on a cheaper FA. Strike 3 with CarGo and Hanley sucking.
No doubt, some bad luck there too!

I asked my friend who actually goes to these games for how the fans are reacting. Bored, he says. Fans are too polite in this generation to boo.

You can always count on Kipnis to say something, actually to say a lot; he has the best vocal skills on the team.

Greg Allen has been called up to Indians.
And for those of you that follow the farm, Daniel Johnson has been promoted to AAA to take Allen’s place. And Mitch Longo has been activated from DL to take Johnson’s place in AA.
I have not heard yet who Allen is replacing in Cleveland. But since DJ took his AAA spot does that mean someone else is getting DFA’d?
Martin?
Or is Mercado on I.L.?
I didn’t get to see game last night so might have missed something.

LHP Josh D, Smith added to 40-man promoted to Cleveland
Zack Meisel
Indians are calling up reliever Josh Smith, sources tell @Ken_Rosenthal and me. Smith, 29, logged a 1.82 ERA at Triple-A Columbus this year, holding hitters to a .099/.215/.185 slash line.

Plutko was sent back to AAA to make room for Josh Smith. Eric Haase was sent back down to make room for Allen.

According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, the Indians are set to promote Zach Plesac from Triple-A Columbus.
The 24-year-old right-hander -- and son of former MLB hurler Dan Plesac -- owned a terrific 1.41 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 56/7 K/BB ratio across 57 1/3 innings between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus. It's unclear exactly when he'll debut for the Tribe, but if he sticks in the rotation he could have some mixed league viability.

Tuesday is Plesac's regular day and there was some speculation earlier he might start that night.
By the way, Dan is his uncle, not his dad.

1b/LF/DH Jake Bauers in May: 178/277/288 and in his last 15 games 118/224/255
1B/DH Bobby Bradley in May in Columbus: 307/388/673
Just noting.

Yeah, for me, it's not like they didn't know Bauers might be a longer term project than Yandy.
No shame in sending him to AAA for now and trying someone else. Columbus is right down the road.
This is a bit of a crisis time. Twins have the best record in the AL (not a misprint).

Twins were building a group of young players, some of whom were not quite achieving yet, and added some good FA talent. Now everything's coming together and they're going to be unbeatable this season, in the ALC anyway. And watch out for the WhiteSox who break through in the near future, too.

In case someone doesn’t follow Minors Folder, I posted this earlier. Which makes Civ’s earlier thoughts on Bauers/Bradley more meaningful...

Zack Meisel @ZackMeisel
Asked about Bradley today. Reports are good. I'd imagine he'll get a look at some point this summer.

Here’s hoping it’s sooner rather than later.

You nailed it there civ. They've been waiting for Sano, Buxton, Kepler and now they're here. Eddie Rosario was already stud. Add in Marwin Gonzalez, Nelson Cruz, and a further breakout for their shortstop Polanco and it's crazy good.
PS - Add CJ Cron to the above.
I will say this, the Twins hitting on so many things at once was unlikely. But it happened.
Meanwhile credit our ex-front office guy Falvey.

All these small market [except ChiX] teams in the central should go on the same trajectory with bottom dwellers developing young talent, then supplementing with cheaper FA when the kids are ready. You'd expect something of a roller coaster among the 5 teams in the division. Royals seem to be unable to get their move started.
