Tribe must rely on others to declare Clevenger "ready". Clevenger would probably say he's ready right now.

They would be able to keep off the big league mound in any case with his mandatory 60 day wait.
When he returns we will have 6 solid starters to pick 5 from. If Trevor continues to pitch like his recent starts, they can option him to Columbus and see how much furniture he breaks.

Lol, but figuring Plutko will be Columbus bound when Clev comes back.

That said, he might pitch well again and JefRod might regress. Stuff happens.

Today Bieber became the 4th youngest pitcher to have 15 K and 0 walks in a game.

Dwight Golden, Kerry Wood, and Vince Velasquez did it while younger.

Gooden won 194 games in his career despite stumbles. I'll take that for Bieber.
Wood lasted but only in the bullpen. And I never heard of VV.

Yeah, somewhere in 2016 he had a biceps issue, then in 2017 this:

His 2017 season was also cut short due to a right middle finger injury, with Velasquez making only 15 starts with a record of 2–7 and a 5.13 ERA, and 68 strikeouts in 72 innings.[15][5] He battled inconsistency, walking 4.3 batters per nine innings. At the plate, he batted .250.[15]

So this guy's career got sidetracked with injury stuff. He is still on the Phillies.

Mandy Bell Verified account @MandyBell02

At 23 years, 353 days old, Shane Bieber is the youngest Indians pitcher with 12+ K in a game since Greg Swindell had 15 on May 10, 1987 against the Royals, as a 22-year-old.

Bieber rankings among AL pitchers:

ERA 12
Strikeouts 7 [Bauer is 4, Carrasco 9]
WHIP 6
BA Against 9 [Bauer 3]
IP 8 [Bauer 1]
HR 11 [5 in one game boosted him on this list]
BB tied for 54th
K/BB [no list on MLB.com but his 5.3/1 is among the best, too]

Kluber gets his follow up x-ray on Thursday to see if bone has healed. Can remove cast and go on to next step.

Zimmer is playing baseball down in Arizona. Pic from today. https://twitter.com/BurningRiverBB/stat ... 2438215680

Alex Call, the player we received for Yonder Alonso is playing down there getting close to return as well. (although he doesn't look to be anything special. Looked to me like pure salary dump) https://twitter.com/BurningRiverBB/stat ... 6193463296

Never seemed like a player we actually were going to get something out of.

Yeah, I don't know civ. If you look at his 2017 numbers, those were fine! And doing that in Oakland and Seattle, both crappy hitting parks. If he had just been able to duplicate that, nothing more, it wasn't much of a stretch.

Didn't happen though, obviously.

I wasn't very clear on that: I mean the kid we got in return, Call.
