Over the weekend we use the 3 starters still standing. But then we keep on going with games Momday and Tuesday and there's only 1 scheduled off day in the month of May. So, Rodriguez and TBD will be busy. there's not time to build up Anderson in Columbus. Sot he options are:
TFIR's opener suggestion. [But I doubt they'd dig down as far as Lynchburg to add Eli Morgan to the majors quite yet.]
Or a "bullpen game" scheduled every 5 days; perhaps with Cody adding one inning to his share of the workload every time out as long as he's effective. Which would develop into a regular 5th turn in the rotation by the end of the month. And then Clevinger comes back. And all we right with the world.
[well, it would help if the team develops some offense too.]

Cleveland Indians @Indians
Carlos Santana has homered in 3 straight games.
At this rate, he will finish with 137 HRs on the season, which would be an MLB record.

-

Indians twitter account cracks me up.

David J. Chao, MD @ProFootballDoc
Non-displaced ulna fracture.
Typically no surgery, just cast.
Expect approximately 6 week absence, but is a potential candidate for 60 day injured list.

-

Again, this may be stupid, but I can't help but wonder if this 6 to 8 week absence might not actually help him. I've been wondering since last October if he was suffering from a dead arm. (and of course add some rehab time on top of that before he's back)

At the very least Kluber and Clevinger should be fresh for playoffs if we can get in.

As I look ahead at the schedule, there is only 1 off day after today the rest of the month. The 15th. So another arm is going to be needed for sure coming up. Again, my vote is for Cody Anderson. At the beginning may only get 4 innings from him till he stretches out a bit more but I am anxious to see him back out there. Supposedly his stuff is back better than ever.

I will say this. Injuries have, in the recent past, really pulled this Tribe team together and got them playing better baseball. No trial or tribulation worse than having a bad injury to your ace. Will be interesting to see how they react. Would not be shocked to see them pull together and go on a bit of a hot streak.

I think I'll cast another vote for the same candidate, but I'd say 3 innings to start with lots of relievers lined up behind him. We will certainly calling on the relief corps for more innings and more appearances with this rotation. And should expect more rotation between Cleveland and Columbus for the lesser lights in the pen. Unfortunately, the only guys on the 40 man roster, not injured, and not really stinking, who are available for recall after Anderson are Jon Edwards and Hu. If Corey is added to the 60-day DL then they could add some new name to the roster.

[I wonder if they're thinking that they may have jumped the gun with 60 day DL for Clevinger? I believe -- I hope -- that he can we working on his minor league rehab during the 60 days; and if that's correct, I'd pencil him to start on the 61st day. They may have been thinking of Salazar who is currently on day 400 some of his DL stint]

Come on, Civ. It's not the DL anymore it's the IL. Don't ask me why.

Didn’t want to answer cause figured you guys wouldn’t believe me, but truthfully, they changed it from DL to IL to be politically correct. With respect to people with true disabilities as opposed to just injuries. Same wimps that we’re offended by Chief Wahoo, no doubt.

civ - I'm thinking they included rehab starts into the 60 days

I think so. Let's hope Clev doesn't have one of those "set backs" like Lindor and Zimmer so we can see him back asap

ROSTER MOVES:

- Corey Kluber to 10 day IL

- RHP Jon Edwards – From Columbus to Cleveland

+ RHP James Karinchak – Promoted from Akron to Columbus

Karinchak leaves Akron with his perfect ERA intact. If he can maintain something close to the same level of success with the Clippers [perfection not required] we should see him soon.

More news. Good for Cody Anderson fans.

Anderson will start Sunday. Trevor Bauer will start Monday and Jefry Rodriguez will start Tuesday.

Terry said they bumped Bauer back to Monday so there was a day in between Anderson and Rodriguez

The rotation for the next 5 days ..
Bieber
Carrasco
Anderson
Bauer
Rodriguez
