Jason Kipnis - 2B - Indians

Indians purchased the contract of INF Jason Kipnis from Triple-A Columbus.
Kipnis, 24, earned the promotion after batting .281/.363/.485 with 12 home runs, 12 stolen bases and 54 RBI in 90 games for the Columbus Clippers. He's likely to take over starting second base duties in Cleveland down the stretch.

I wonder if this means OC is being dealt?

i think Kipnis is being promoted based on sizemore being out for 4-6 weeks. Strengthen 2nd in lieu of weaker outfield.

Kipnis is the best young player the Indians have.

Happy to see Kipnis up here, but has been slumping in AAA recently.

Didn't see it posted here anywhere but Jared Goedert was designated for assignment to make room for Kipnis

AL Central Notes: Indians, Tigers, Twins, Avila
By Mike Axisa [July 21 at 7:49pm CST]
The Indians called up top prospect Jason Kipnis today, hoping that his .281/.363/.485 batting line in Triple-A will provide a boost for their big league offense. Let's see what else is going on around the division...

The Indians need a starter and a bat, but Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports says (on Twitter) that they are taking a conservative approach to the trade deadline.
Meanwhile, SI.com's Jon Heyman says (on Twitter) that the Indians' top two trade targets are Hiroki Kuroda and Aaron Harang. Earlier today we heard they were looking at Coco Crisp as well.

In other news, I am hearing the #Indians and #Padres may be close to a deal on an unnamed player. The assumption is Ludwick.

Yeah, you were the one that got them this far this season.

You were a big fan of Masterson and Carasco. Not !

Goedert was still on the 40 man roster?? I will be surprised if anyone else claims him. Not having a good year in Columbus.

Finally! enough momentum pushes Kipnis to Cleveland.

Now put him in the lineup and leave him alone.

If OC is a problem, get rid of him.

AC needs to realize he doesn't need OC around.
